A Conversation With Sonja Sadovsky (Author of “The Priestess and the Pen”)
Last updated on: December 15, 2014 at 10:15 am By Jason Mankey
"The Priestess and the Pen" is one of the most interesting and unique "Pagan History" books to be released in the last ten years. It's mostly an exploration into the role of "Priestess" in the works of authors Marion Zimmer Bradley, Diana L. Paxson, and Dion Fortune, but it's also a captivating look into the Triple Goddess archetype. Author Sonja Sadovsky was kind enough to answer some of my questions about the book and the result is a lively look at Paganisms past, present, and future. Read more

A Pagan Celebrating Christmas
Last updated on: November 28, 2018 at 1:36 pm By Jason Mankey
I'm a Pagan who celebrates Christmas, I know that bothers a few folks out there but I think my reasons for celebrating it are valid. Holidays are what we make of them, and at my house we continue to make Christmas memories. Read more

4 Things People Say At Christmas (That Are Most Likely Wrong)
Last updated on: November 28, 2018 at 1:40 pm By Jason Mankey
The Holidays are a popular time for misinformation, and most of it's spread with the best of intentions. It's fun to think that Jesus and Horus are brothers or that Santa is more mushroom trip than Saint Nicholas, but that doesn't make it true. Read more

No Man Is an Island
Last updated on: December 6, 2014 at 1:05 pm By Jason Mankey
As a Pagan I believe that there are threads that connect us all to the Earth and one another. Because of this "no man is an island" and every man's death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind. Sadly, there are millions of Americans who either choose to ignore the threads that bind us together or seek to sever them. Read more

Pagan Pilgrimage: The Roman Baths
Last updated on: November 24, 2014 at 5:03 pm By Jason Mankey
The Roman Baths are an interesting little piece of history, but the real magic and wonder lies in the temple ruins that once stood nearby. Here the gods of old were worshipped and honored, and when I visited the city of Bath, I could feel them near me, just as they would have been 2000 years ago. Read more

Killing Thanksgiving
Last updated on: November 24, 2017 at 9:41 am By Jason Mankey
Thanksgiving is the simplest and most basic of holidays. At its core it’s a harvest celebration, perhaps the last “pure” agrarian holiday shared by most Americans. That it's being lost in an orgy of consumerism isn't just troubling, it's deeply saddening. Read more
