Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
Here is something I’ll be involved in and I hope you will, too, by posting on your page or sharing your access ideas and experience or those of friends and family with Pagans with Disabilities. The Independent Living Resource Center of San Francisco /www.ilrcsf.org/blogforaccess/blogforaccess.htm is asking people on July 26th, 2011 to devote their blog entries, Twitter streams, social networking pages, email or Youtube uploads to Disability Access.
From the ILRCSF site:
“Write, Tweet, or post videos about cool assistive technology, your frustration with public transportation, curb cuts, how awesome the staff is about accommodating your needs at your favorite restaurant….whatever comes to mind regarding this topic. All we ask is that you devote your blog and Tweets on this one day – the 21st anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act – to DISABILITY ACCESS.
Do not let the fact that you don’t have a blog stop you from participating: we welcome all efforts to participate in Blog For Access. If you don’t have a blog or use Twitter or Youtube you can:
* Write an email about disability access and blast it out
* Dedicate your Facebook status to disability access
* Send a text message about disability access
* Be creative: if you have Internet access, you can participate
To take part in Blog For Access all you have to do is send us an email ([email protected]) with the words “blog for access” in the subject field. Include the name of your blog or Facebook account, and the URL you’d like us to link, and we’ll add you to the growing list of Blog For Access participants. That’s it. You do not have to have a disability in order to participate. Send us an email, pledge to blog or Tweet or post a video about disability access on July 26th, 2011, and you’re part of a worldwide movement to get people talking about accessibility.”
I’ll post more information this summer how you can participate in Blogging for Access on Pagans with Disability.
