Pagan Families began in May 2011 as a place to generate and collect Pagan resources on pregnancy and childbirth. Think The Pagan Book of Living and Dying for the childbearing year.

The inclusive name Pagan Families gave us lots of room to grow into a blog addressing many aspects of Pagan family life, including partnering, pregnancy, and parenting. We still maintain an emphasis on the full spectrum of human reproduction, including contraception, infertility, conception, miscarriage, abortion, pregnancy, birth, adoption, and the postpartum period. It’s a little bit like the old Mothering Magazine for Pagans.

Sarah Whedon is the founding and managing editor of Pagan Families, but this is a platform for multiple voices. Niki Whiting, Priestess Molly, and Molly Khan are regular contributors, plus Kira Nuit has contributed several guest posts and Meg Yardley writes our popular picture books series. The site was birthed thanks to support from Sierra Black, Lily Shahar Kunning, and Niki Whiting. Adam Blodgett was the webmaster for the original site. Johanna Bobrow was the photographer and designer for the original banner and contributed the photo for the current banner.
