About Brian

My name is Brian Fraga. I am a fulltime freelance Catholic journalist and contributing editor for Our Sunday Visitor. My perspective and approach to Catholic news has been honed by my experience as a daily newspaper reporter for almost 20 years.

My byline has appeared in Catholic News Service, Legatus Magazine, The Pilot newspaper, Columbia Magazine, U.S. Catholic, the National Catholic Register, and the Rhode Island Catholic.

I hope this blog will benefit the Catholic community with solid reporting and analysis of events and trends in the Church. I will be offering my own spiritual observations and commentary on the day’s headlines, filtered through my Catholic lens. In addition, I will be introducing to the wider American Catholic audience some of the quirky aspects of the Portuguese-Azorean Catholicism that I grew up in in Southeastern Massachusetts, where I still live with my wife Catherine and our daughter Hope.
