Easy Knit Winter Wreath

Last updated on: January 11, 2013 at 9:54 pm   By Jennifer Fancher

Are you looking for a new wreath after all your Holiday decor has gone away? I needed a wreath for my front door, but didn’t have extra cash to spend, after all the holiday shopping. I got out my yarn stash and an old straw wreath form and made myself this cute wreath in just an afternoon! When I was putting all my Christmas decor away, I found an old hay wreath in my closet that was just collecting dust.... Read more

Handmade Christmas

Last updated on: November 27, 2012 at 4:59 pm   By Jennifer Fancher

I don’t know what’s been changing in me, but we are slowly moving toward a Homesteading, Handmade type of family.  We’ve been busy making bread and laundry soaps from scratch and we thought, why not our tree? We (mostly I) made ornaments from old dictionary pages and sheet music.  The younglings were in for about 10 minutes and bailed on me!   I finger knit some garland using three strands of yarn, one being the fun ‘tinsel yarn’!  How perfect... Read more

Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs

Last updated on: November 20, 2012 at 8:06 pm   By Jennifer Fancher

One of my most popular posts is about my Cabinet Door Makeover.  I’ve made a few more signs using a new medium.   This is my hallway downstairs.  A wall of doors!  Well I found this little beauty.  Y’all remember these?  I wish I would have taken a before picture in it’s true glory.  It had zigzag sides that I cut off, but I can imagine it hanging proudly for years in the Shirley’s house.  I snatched it up for mere... Read more

The Train Room

Last updated on: May 14, 2012 at 10:10 pm   By Jennifer Fancher

I can’t believe it’s been over 2 years since we made our son’s bedroom into a Train room.  After all this time, that boy is still obsessed with trains. Here are some before shots. It’s okay, but it was a little bland.   A poor excuse for a side table.   Lots of bare walls.   The niche turned CABOOSE still was the highlight of the room.   I tried a few new arrangements…   And still wasn’t quite satisfied.... Read more

Patio Perfection…finally!

Last updated on: May 4, 2012 at 3:15 pm   By Jennifer Fancher

Vegas is NOT known for it’s large backyards.  Let’s face it, if you don’t have a pool, then you really don’t want to hang out in the desert heat of the summer.  Our backyard has evolved since the 3 years we moved in.  Let’s start with the bare bones beginning. Don’t be hatin’ on my humongo yard!  This was right after we moved in. We added some grass.  Being a displaced Kentucky girl, I had to have some bluegrass for... Read more

If I could bring to you my house, and if I would let my husband spend boatloads of moolah on the timpani he’s always dreamed of owning, I’d be ordering a drum roll right now! The Evolution of Painted Shutters

Last updated on: April 13, 2012 at 2:24 pm   By Jennifer Fancher

The Hunk and I lived briefly in a house just outside of Nashville, TN, our college stomping grounds.  The previous owner left some old shutters in the garage and I LOVED them!  Here’s a pic of them in our TN home. I moved them to our Vegas casa and have tried them on many walls, in many formats. Staggered…   Separated, but not as whimsically placed.   When I started hanging my window sign I made, I new I wanted... Read more
