Connecting Tarot with Music: The Devil

Last updated on: August 30, 2017 at 5:43 am By Jessica Jascha

Oh, the infamous Devil card, illiciting fear that is second perhaps only to the Death card. That fear alone is telling, isn’t it? Do you ever stop and witness your fears and what they say about you and your beliefs? Mine usually say, “hey, you’re really neurotic and your mind is a Pandora’s box of phobias!” I jest (with pointed truth), but our fears are important. They show us the things to which we relinquish our power and in some... Read more

Tarot Reading at Foster Fest 2017

Last updated on: August 29, 2017 at 5:16 am By Jessica Jascha

This Saturday (September 2nd) I’ll be at Foster Fest giving tarot readings ($40 for 30 minutes) from 11AM-3PM. I’m extremely excited for this event (which goes until 9PM) for many reasons, one of which is the bean bag tournament I hope to partake in after I’m done offering readings. The main reason I’m excited though, is because Foster Fest is a music festival featuring local musicians for the benefit of Mission 21, a local nonprofit that fights child sex trafficking. Foster... Answers from Rochester’s Resident Witch part 2

Last updated on: August 26, 2017 at 6:06 pm By Jessica Jascha

After my previous blog post about life as a witch, more people wrote to me with questions they have. It was more than enough to warrant another blog post and I actually quite enjoy curiosity of others, so here we are this Saturday morning. Again (if you read the previous post) these views are solely mine and don’t necessarily reflect the views of other witches. How do you stay safe? Aside from the typical ways of staying safe (not walking alone at... Read more

Working with Lenormand

Last updated on: August 25, 2017 at 5:26 pm By Jessica Jascha

Something cool I would like to share with you are these Lenormand cards. I bought this beautiful handmade deck on Etsy, it’s called the Clair De Lune Lenormand. I’ve been working with Lenormand for a while now. It’s a fixed fortune telling system and each card has specific meanings all dependent upon the context of the question. It’s very different from tarot in that you need zero intuition to read these cards, and the images on the cards do not... Read more

Midnight with the Faeries

Last updated on: August 25, 2017 at 6:30 am By Jessica Jascha

I’ve been watching the Twin Peaks Sequel, which is both compelling and terrifying and contributing to my already erratic sleep schedule. But tonight (tomorrow by the time anyone reads this), I couldn’t fall asleep because of an intense and distant longing in my heart. I lay in bed thinking about the sensitivities and idealism long buried under practicality and duties. I thought about the myriad talents I’ve been gifted with (and yes, you have a myriad of your own) and... Read more

Answers from Rochester’s Resident Witch

Last updated on: August 24, 2017 at 5:41 am By Jessica Jascha

Earlier today I encouraged folks on Facebook to submit their questions to me about witch life and witchcraft in order to facilitate education and dialogue because not many people know much about me or the craft. I am in general a very private person, and most people come to me for my listening (and tarot reading) skills. The response to my solicitation was a mixture of great questions and great references to Monty Python and Harry Potter. So without further... Read more

August New Moon Message

Last updated on: August 21, 2017 at 4:13 pm By Jessica Jascha

Happy new moon in Leo! As per usual I pulled three cards to see what the overall message is for everyone for this new moon, and unsurprisingly the message from the faeries is one of courage, dreams, and actions. Last month’s new moon was also in Leo, but this month’s new moon has the added zap of a solar eclipse, and you are asked to stretch beyond your previous limitations. Now is the time to move confidently in the direction... Read more

Reading Tea Leaf Fortune Cards

Last updated on: August 10, 2017 at 7:55 am By Jessica Jascha

I recently purchased tea leaf fortune cards, which is a set of 200 cards with different symbols found in traditional tea leaf readings. The types of readings you can do with these cards is limited, but true to my nature I did all of them in one night. Because that’s super healthy. Anyway, they’re more or less long-term in telling fortunes, so I’m waiting for the end of this week to review the cards I pulled and to see how... Read more
