HABIT #4: Repeat daily.

READ IT

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.” (Philippians 4:9)

If you want to see your inner person transformed, you have to embrace the grind. By now you’re almost a week into the 21 Day Challenge, and some of the newness has worn off. More than likely the enemy is doubling down and trying to keep you in chains and turmoil. The fun has worn off. Now it becomes work.

The Bible knows that. Choosing joy, praying with thanksgiving and thinking on noble things are all hard work. They are disciplines. So Philippians is clear about what it’s going to take to be successful: practice. Philippians 4:9 is the author of Philippians (Paul) encouraging this church to continually practice the habits he taught them (habits 1-3).

If you want to get a picture of how much practice and discipline will be involved, look at the world’s best athletes. How disciplined are they? Even though they are at the top of their game, how much to they continue to practice?

Do you want that life of peace and contentment? You’re going to have to work for it. You’re going to have to embrace the grind. (But you don’t have to go through it alone. That’s why we’re doing it together!)

WRITE IT

How did you do with your Live It challenge yesterday? Was there a time when you caught yourself indulging in mental junk food and intentionally chose to dwell on something better? Share your story in the comments section!

PRAY IT

God, give me a strength and discipline not my own to see this through. You’ve started this good work in me. May you carry it on to completion through the power of your Son Jesus.

LIVE IT

Your Live It Challenge today is simple: keep at it. You’re almost a week in. Stay focused, don’t give up. Embrace the process, embrace the grind. See you tomorrow!
