LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

I just recently presented at a stake Relief Society function and requested the women in the audience to submit anonymous questions they might want addressed.  Here is a sampling of what I received:

We both are working and this causes stress and is a burden to our family, but income wavers between enough and not enough.  Even so, it is constantly barely enough.  How do we cope?

How do you deal when your husband wants sex much more often than you and you seemingly have no sex drive?

Spouse never will discuss problems or what’s bothering him, but just gives the cold shoulder or is irritating to everyone all day.  No progression in marriage relationship because of this.

How do you best encourage and be a support to those suffering from depression?

How can we make step-families closer?

Is it selfish to struggle with a spouse who is frequently ill?  Should I always be sympathetic and helpful?  I’m so sick of him being sick!

Having a hard time discussing things with my husband without one of us/both being upset.

My teenage daughters don’t get along – how do I help them to have a better relationship?

How can I keep a pleasant relationship with a family member who is a pathological liar and extremely self-absorbed that you rely on?

How do I overcome depression and anger?

After being deeply betrayed, how do I heal myself?

How do I think positive thoughts about myself?  Can’t seem to think anything good about myself even though I know I am a good person.

When is it time to seek help from a counselor?

Get very frustrated that my husband and I are not on the same level with child discipline.  How can we get united?

How do you reconcile differences about money management?

How do you get adult children to stop squabbling about anything and everything?

How do you deal with SUPER rebellious teenagers?

When you have marital challenges, should you/can you talk with someone or keep it within the marriage and if so, who – family, friend, bishop or just professional help?

Chronic illness, sex, depression, communication issues, marital conflict, finances, step-families, sibling rivalry, parenting, family dynamics, toxic relationships, anger, infidelity, self-esteem, etc.  Any of this sound familiar?  We are not alone in these types of sufferings and challenges.  My reason for posting these questions is to continue the awareness factor that we are all struggling with significant issues within a ward/stake family.  Many of the women in my class I recognized, are actively involved in the church, present as content – and yet I wouldn’t know of these struggles.  I find all of these themes and more within my mainly LDS practice.  Hopefully those who are in leadership positions can look at this list and venture a guess that there are similar questions within their jurisdiction.
