I have noticed a remarkable increase in frequency of orgasm… 2009-08-04T16:26:00-05:00 Natasha Helfer

I had been meaning to post a comment anyways, but now that someone has found my original question relevant, I want to say how my progress is going and what has helped me. I have noticed that now that I know orgasms can vary in intensity, what I thought before to be nothing, was in fact an orgasm! It was important for me to realize that it doesn’t always feel like something extraordinary. Sometimes it just feels kinda good. But I did look out for the feeling of release, and that was how I knew! And ever since I have truly just let go of worrying about it, I have noticed a remarkable increase in frequency of orgasm…now that I know what I’m looking for. I have to fully let go and relax my body and my expectations. It’s like throwing all my worries about not having an orgasm away and just letting what will happen, happen. And most often, that helps. And also I noticed that I have been almost pushing outwardly when I feel like an orgasm is close. Before, there was sometimes an almost painful sensation (like it felt so good it hurt kinda) so I would tense up and it would make me not orgasm. Sometimes I had the cramping sensation too! But lately I have been pushing outwards with my pelvic muscles, (I guess?) and that really helps! (Just be sure to pee first because it’s the same muscle!)
So, I think what I learned from Natasha has really helped me, plus I did some “learning” on my own and I am enjoying my husband so much more!!! 🙂
I am so happy to hear that you feel like you are having more success in the bedroom! I think you hit the nail on the head when you talk about the power of relaxation. This can be a tricky thing: to relax about something we are stressed out about. It’s like saying “Don’t think about an elephant!” And of course, that’s the first thing you think about. But research has consistently showed that both visualization and relaxation exercises can be extremely helpful for people experiencing sexual hang-ups or disorders. In addition, the willingness to experiment and “learn“ of which you speak of are also very useful tools. And the great side effect of you enjoying your husband so much more is that he will also be enjoying you more as well. It’s a win-win situation for you both.
