- Reem Rahman responds to Othman O’Malley’s article about hejab.
- Singapore bans A Jihad For Love at its film festival.

- There is happy pseudo-ending to this horrific story: this girl’s husband and father were arrested and she will be granted a divorce. Just…estaghfirallah to this entire thing. Thanks be to God that she had the courage to come to court…by herself…and take the justice that she deserves, and thanks be that the justice system recognized a violation of Islam and the law. Just…so…fucked…up.
- In Bangladesh, a conservative party protests a new law to give women the same inheritance rights as men, clashing with police. A witness said, “All roads around the Baitul Mokarram mosque in the city centre were filled with white robed Muslim devotees since before noon despite strong presence of police.” Hm. I wonder how many of them were women.
- Don’t forget, ladies! The deadline for the Muslim women’s blog carnival is April 13 (this Sunday).
