Missional Shift

What Does “Missional” Mean? Answer: A Subtle but Significant Shift

What Does “Missional” Mean? Answer: A Subtle but Significant Shift 2013-09-09T11:27:17-03:00 Steve Knight

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

It’s been a while since I attempted to answer the question, “What does it mean to be ‘missional’?” When I launched this blog in May 2012, that was the first question I tried to answer.

I had the opportunity to preach on this subject at The Table in East Dallas, Texas, in October 2012, and shortly after I posted the full-length video of that talk (and really the entire worship service).

Recognizing that people do not typically sit and watch 37-minute long YouTube videos, I’ve decided to post a few short clips from that talk, which capture some important aspects of my thinking on missional shift — starting with this clip in which I answer the question (again), “What does it mean to be ‘missional’?”

If this video is helpful to you and you think it would be helpful to others, please share the link broadly and subscribe to the TransFORM Network YouTube channel for more videos.
