Scars…from bricks and marshmallows

Last updated on: October 14, 2019 at 3:38 pm   By Michelle Collins

Romans 12:15:  Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.   Scars are indicative of damage. Some scars are minor, and others are pronounced and will never go away. As I write this, I am sporting some really interesting bruises that upon close observation could be construed as abusive. Are they? No, they are not. They are a result of an activity that I chose to participate in and worked hard to accomplish. The bruises are... Read more

Questions, Deconstruction, and Normalcy

Last updated on: October 1, 2019 at 9:18 am   By Michelle Collins

Recently, while studying for a class in my doctorate program, I came across a quote that has stayed with me over this last week. “There is a reasonable hypothesis that spirituality or an awareness of a sense of  connectedness to all others will lead to generative performance” (Perera-Diltz, Dilani, et al. 494). Last updated on: August 12, 2019 at 6:01 pm   By Michelle Collins

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 – There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. 13 We were all baptized by one Holy Spirit. And so we are formed into one body. It didn’t matter whether we were Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free people. We were all given the same Spirit to drink. 14 So the body is not made up of just one part. It... Read more

A Dangerous Meal

Last updated on: December 14, 2022 at 9:29 pm   By Michelle Collins

The pain of the recent weeks is almost unthinkable! I say “almost” as sadly, it is becoming the norm. Each time a life is taken, the arguments begin all over again with no resolution beyond becoming more entrenched in our viewpoints. We do not discuss to find solutions; we speak over and around one another in an effort to be right. It feels disingenuous and it means nothing changes. I have in recent weeks spent a lot of time wondering... Read more
