Do All Dreams Have Meaning?

Last updated on: April 15, 2020 at 12:04 am   By Mat Auryn

One of the best categorizations of dreams I have come across comes from the Roman writer Macrobius in about 400 CE where he's commenting on the Dream of Scipio from Cicero's De re publica written in about 54 BCE. In the commentary Macrobius categorizes dreams into the following five types—Somnium, Visio, Oraculum, Insomnium, and Visum.  Read more

Review: The Magick of Food

Last updated on: April 25, 2020 at 6:22 pm   By Mat Auryn

Gwion shows how preparing and cooking food can connect a person to magick in a concrete tangible way—whether that's working a food spell, performing a devotional food ritual or just simply being mindful of the process of transformation and creation involved in cooking. Read more

Review: Spellcrafting

Last updated on: April 4, 2020 at 5:06 am   By Mat Auryn

Most of our textbook standard definitions of magick usually begin defining it as "the science and the art of..." While Arin strongly acknowledges the "science" of spellcrafting and lays it out in a concrete, easy-to-follow and affable fashion, Arin shows how to bring the "art" aspect into your spells and how equally important that is. Read more

Christians Are Protesting My First Keynote

Last updated on: April 25, 2020 at 6:39 pm   By Mat Auryn

A few days ago I discovered that a flyer was being passed around by an unidentified Christian Group at a restaurant in Austin, asking to protest the event and included a prayer. I remained silent on it when I discovered it and decided to meditate on it a bit. Read more

Review: The Little Work

Last updated on: April 25, 2020 at 6:40 pm   By Mat Auryn

This idea of the "The Little Work" serving as a crucial component for "The Great Work" is almost a direct answer to and extension of the works of Israel Regardie, Franz Bardon, and Dion Fortune where they discuss and reference doing this type of work but then don’t ever dive into the detailed practices of how that is done as this book does. Read more

Harm None, But Take No Sh*t

Last updated on: April 26, 2020 at 8:53 pm   By Mat Auryn

Being pro-curse is trendy these days, to the point where it should probably concern any serious magickal practitioner. I think this is in response to decades of having the "three-fold law" and shallow interpretations of "harm none" shoved down our throats. Read more
