The trial of Scott Warren ended in a hung jury. For those not following the news, this was a guy who left water out in the desert so that desperate refugees would not die of thirst. This is literally what Jesus says spells the difference between heaven and hell:
“When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. Then the King will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was thirsty and you gave me drink.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you thirsty and give you drink? And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’ Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was thirsty and you gave me no drink.’ Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you thirsty, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.’ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Mt 25:31–46)
Evidently, FOX was unable to brainwash a sufficient number of jurors into thinking that saving people from murder by thirst is bad. And yes, I do mean murder:
As Warren pointed out after a mistrial was declared:
“In the time since I was arrested in January 2018, no fewer than 88 bodies were recovered from the Arizona desert,” Warren said. “The government’s plan in the midst of this humanitarian crisis? Policies to target undocumented people, refugees, and their families. Prosecutions to criminalize humanitarian aid, kindness, and solidarity. And now, the revelation that they will build an enormous and expensive wall across a vast stretch of southwestern Arizona’s unbroken Sonoran Desert.”
Denying people the water necessary to live is known in English as “murder”. That the jury was unable to unanimously figure that out is a statement of the peril in which our Republic stands.
And though Warren is not going to prison for 20 years as his sadistic persecutors had hoped, others are being punished for obeying God rather than men.
Nobody more passionately supports this racist policy of cold-blooded murder than the “prolife” white conservative Christianist Trump supporter. And nobody feels more butthurt about people recoiling at their white supremacy than Good White Christianists like Steve King, who compared himself to Jesus for the revulsion people had for his racism. Such people are full of complaint about so-called ‘religious persecution’ due to coffee cups not to their taste. They are blind to the fact that, in supporting these brutal policies, it is they who are the persecutors.
So here we are, thanks to Trump and his base of allegedly “prolife” super-patriots and Good White Christianists:

We must obey God rather than Christianists.
