A reader writes:

Urgent prayer request if possible, mother of 9, ages 12 DAYS to 14 years in hospital after several heart attack and things are very dire, they are unable to do surgery and cannot seem to unblock her artery–only 40 years old…thanks

Father, hear our prayer for her complete healing in body, soul, and spirit for her good, the good of her family and the glory of your Name.  Give her caregivers grace, wisdom, knowledge, skill, understanding, compassion, persistent stamina to help in the healing process.  Give her family and all who love her grace, consolation, peace, strength, faith, hope and love.  Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for them all.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen!

Another reader writes:

I would like to request prayer. In a nutshell I am pretty desperate.

I am trying to learn abandonment to God’s will.

The disability people cut me off last year and I have run out of money. My business has dried up and I am meeting with a bankruptcy atty Tuesday to see what my options are. Probably corporate and personal BK, both.

Looking back over the past twenty years, everything I have done I have done well and to no fruit. I think because of my attitude: it was always self-assertion, look at me the Caped Crusader fixing ________. Pride is the worst sin. Close cousin to “you shall be as gods” The business death has been interesting: a close friend who was managing the business embezzled 100K and ran up over 200 K in debts. I cut overhead by 20K/month to try to make some money (it had been zero or negative most of the time) and just then the income dropped 20K leaving still no profit to pay anything. I can’t even pay the rent now nor all my employees.

I think God may be telling me something.

If abandonment to His Will is the goal the saints all talk about, and if assertion of my own is the antithesis, then my various windmills over the past twenty years have been fundamentally sinful and I have repented of that. I have a backup plan to start working starting in January, which is not a great idea since my wife is not so healthy, and still hope to get the disability policy reinstated. But I’m finding abandonment difficult (some days easier than others – been working on this for a while but only today did I see the pride element in my various campaigns of the past twenty years).

So prayer support would be welcome.

Father, hear our prayer for this repentant and humble son of yours as he strives to surrender himself to your will. Grant his prayer for abandonment to your will and supply him and his family with the financial goods they need in order to live according to your will. Thank you for such a good man who seeks to do what you want. Give him the grace as well to forgive his business partner and move on. Reward him abundantly with your treasure for a heart so open to your will. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for him and his family. Amen.

Another reader writes:

I wanted to take some time to thank you all for your prayers regarding these interviews. Unfortunately, due to the particular hours that the family I would have been hired for to help conflicted with the hours I couldn’t be available due to my boys’ appointments and needing to be available after school for my kids, I wasn’t hired. Such is the challenge of a single mother.

The good news is the director really liked me and is holding my information for any further clients she gets that would be a good match and, since she is also associated with the Panhandle Autism Society, she is passing my information on to the director of that association with the idea of having me be considered for facilitating support groups for families of autistic kids. I had already connected with PAS and at the very least, I have more connections for marketing the Group Coaching I hope to do with families that have special needs kids, not only with the providers we already know in the area, but even reaching out to groups/providers in Washington (mostly the Seattle, Spokane and Western Washington area to begin with).

I also interviewed with a parent association this Wednesday to do support groups in the CDA area for families that have kids with a mental health diagnosis, as well as a support group for the kids themselves. It would be only 15 hours a month but it would also be a way to get more experience. I should find out about this interview early this week.

This next month will be a time to work on getting brochures made for my Group Coaching and marketing the groups to start in January. I will be working on getting my business license with the State and the city of CDA, trusting the Lord that things will come together while doing all I can on my end.

Your prayers and support are so valued and appreciated. Additionally, if you know of anyone who may benefit from a group coaching experience who has special needs children, please pass along my contact information. Send them to my blog: reflectinghisimageclc.blogspot.com where life coaching is described as well as what I have to offer at an affordable price. I certainly don’t have the answers, but with powerful questions, I can help folks get from where they are to where they want to be, while joining with others to find the answers and resources they may be seeking. Raising kids, as we know, is challenging in and of itself. Raising kids with special needs adds a whole new dimension and group coaching will be a valuable tool to help folks discover even more resources to help along the journey.

Father, we ask that you would help her get her business off and running and that you would bless, heal, and prosper this family through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
