No doubt you’ve seen that disrespect is rampant among the millionaire football players.
This weekend, almost a hundred players took a knee during the Star Spangled banner and some teams — The Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Beats, Seattle Seahawks, and Tennessee Titans — didn’t even have the backbone to come out onto the field while the national anthem was being performed.
So, this is an interesting find:
Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner, is apparently so dedicated to the liberal culture wars that he’s ignoring the NFL’s rules regarding player and team behavior during the national anthem. The NFL’s game operations manual says it clearly:
The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.
This is astounding. Goodell is going against league rules to allow players and teams to disrespect our flag and our country.
I haven’t watched a single game this year. And I won’t. Most of my friends feel the same. Note to the NFL, “You’re dead to me.”
College football is more fun anyway, and at least as of yet since it hasn’t been politicized yet.
I don’t watch football for politics. There’s enough of that in everything else.

Aug 24, 2013. Garland, who originally entered the National Football League in 2010 after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy, was on the Bronco’s reserve/military list while fulfilling his active duty obligations in the Air Force. In 2012 Garland joined the Colorado Air National Guard and made the Broncos practice squad as a defensive lineman and is competing this season to make the 53 man final roster.
