I live in California, and I love my home state. But I understand why,recently, Metallica frontman James Hetfield got fed up with life in the San Francisco Bay area:

…there was an elitist attitude there, that if you weren’t their way politically, their way environmentally, all of that, that you were looked down upon…

They talk about how diverse they are, and things like that, and it’s fine if you’re diverse like them.

But showing up with a deer on the bumper doesn’t fly in Marin County. My form of eating organic doesn’t vibe with theirs…

Some of the gun laws definitely don’t make any sense, but also the Second Amendment is very important to me…

As an NRA member, I don’t think we need to be afraid that if we compromise on some things, [they] are going to change so much. I don’t want to make it easier for someone to have an assault weapon, but I also want to be able to protect my family.

I get it.

Do you remember when Americans used to govern themselves? It doesn’t seem that long ago.

When this nation was founded, the government acted only to protect life, liberty and property. Now, it has encroached into every area of life, creating insane laws that reach into every facet of life — there is no state that has more annoying regulations than California… and the added bonus of liberal condescension makes it particularly cloying.

Did you know that California just passed a law requiring you to pass a background check to buy ammunition? Yep…even if you own many firearms, have your entire life, and bought ammunition yesterday. Many of the firearms legally available in the majority of states are not allowed in California…despite no evidence of their special danger.

The California legislative is currently working to regulate cow farts…yep…you heard me right. And when they do, which they no doubt will, the last of the commercial dairy farms will leave California.

And speaking of gas, the fuel in California is the most expensive in the country, because of special “seasonal blends” required by our legislature. Now I’m all for “seasonal blends” when it comes to craft beers from a local brewery, but in gasoline…? These people are genuinely crazy.

Thank goodness California voted to legalize marijuana. Because when all the businesses leave California (which they continue to do at an alarming rate) at least the idiots in the legislature will have an excuse. Instead of simple stupidity, they can all claim that they don’t remember what they did because they were legally stoned out of their minds.
