Are you burned out? Are you stuck in a mode where you can\u2019t get your motivation back at work? I\u2019ve been there. And when you\u2019re there, it\u2019s hard to imagine what recovery looks like. It is even hard to think clearly. <\/span><\/p>\n

I used to assume that burnout requires rest, recovery, and a fresh start. While those can be part of getting our feet back under us, the real goal is to get the fire going again.<\/span><\/p>\n

Think of all the reasons a fire can burn out:<\/span><\/p>\n

Lack of fuel<\/strong>\u2013all the wood is consumed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Lack of oxygen<\/strong>\u2013a lack of fresh air or draft starves a fire<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
\n

The presence of water (or other exterminating substance)<\/strong>\u2013fires can be put out by an extinguisher or a deluge of water<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
