3 Reasons the Real Christmas Story Is for Real Life People

Last updated on: December 23, 2021 at 6:45 pm By Robert Wachter

It’s easy to see the Christmas story through rose-colored glasses. Porcelain nativity scenes and greeting cards convey a message far removed from the truth. However, the birth of Christ shows us what happens when the divine kingdom realm invades the lives of finite humanity. The real story is wrought with complicated tensions and subplots that are relatable to ordinary people. These three lessons from the real Christmas story show that Jesus was born for real life people. 1) God Will... Read more

5 Truths That Will Give You Peace in the Storm

Last updated on: December 17, 2021 at 1:38 pm By Robert Wachter

Jesus promised two things that are certain in life. First, you will experience storms while on planet earth. Second, you are promised perfect peace during the storms. The disciples learned these lessons while experiencing a violent and unexpected storm. If you are going through a difficult time, these five truths will give you peace in the storm. 1) God Allows Storms to Test Your Faith Suddenly, as they were crossing the lake, a ferocious storm arose, with violent winds and... Jesus Does Not Side With either Political Party

Last updated on: December 16, 2021 at 11:47 pm By Robert Wachter

Jesus is not a white male republican or man-bun-wearing social justice warrior. He came preaching the kingdom of God, not the kingdom of America. Still, we have people on both sides of the political aisle fully convinced Jesus is on their side. I don’t want to burst any bubbles, but Jesus does not side with either political party. Before I explain in more detail, please don’t misunderstand. It’s important that Christians (especially pastors) fully engage in the political process. The... Read more

5 Things That Keep Pastors up at Night

Last updated on: December 16, 2021 at 5:17 pm By Robert Wachter

I’m going to share with you what is probably keeping your pastor up at night. I can’t speak for every pastor but I’m confident there are at least some shared experiences that apply to most pastors. Issues like division in the church and people who can’t get along exist in every church. You can bet these five things are keeping your pastor up at night. 1) Pastors Can’t Sleep When People Don’t Love Each Other The only way to grow... Read more

Mental Health: Why Christians Must Stop Pretending

Last updated on: December 9, 2021 at 4:26 pm By Robert Wachter

I’m a pastor with a history dealing with mental health issues. The trauma I experienced growing up developed into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Starting in my early twenties, I began to have flashbacks that were accompanied by panic attacks and severe bouts of anxiety. On many occasions, I believed I was going crazy. The height of my anxiety and panic attacks lasted for over fifteen years. Today, I have victory over these issues, but the process of staying healthy is... Read more

You Are God’s Public Relations Strategy

Last updated on: December 2, 2021 at 1:31 pm By Robert Wachter

Public relations is the state of the relationship between the public and a company, organization, or famous person. Press conferences and press releases are both highly effective tools to drive public relations. It might surprise you to learn that Jesus used both methods during His ministry. He certainly relied on different tactical elements to achieve His objectives in the first century, but the fundamental concepts were the same then as they are today. The Most Important Press Conference For example,... Read more

3 Signs You Are Thankful for Jesus

Last updated on: November 30, 2021 at 10:55 am By Robert Wachter

Ask yourself the question: Are you truly thankful for Jesus? If you’re anything like me, this question draws a somewhat suspicious auto-response. It goes something along these lines. “Yes, of course I’m thankful for Jesus. He died on the cross for my sins. He gave me new life. Jesus is the reason for the season. How could I not be thankful?” My new book The Art of Marketing Jesus is all about being totally genuine, so instead of just assuming... Read more

The Brand Image of the Gospel

Last updated on: November 24, 2021 at 1:38 pm By Robert Wachter

Think about the most famous name brands in the world. What do you feel when you see the BMW, Nike, Apple or Harley Davidson logo? How about brands in the digital media space, such as Facebook, Twitter and Google? What is your sentiment towards these brands? Do you view the brands positively? Why or why not? In the world of business, perhaps nothing is more important than branding. Branding is the art and science that defines and articulates the identity... Read more

Live Free and Attract Others to Jesus

Last updated on: November 18, 2021 at 8:17 am By Robert Wachter

The gospel advertises spiritual freedom. Why then do many believers continue to live in spiritual bondage? I spent years feeling uncertain about my relationship with God. I questioned my salvation and struggle with depression. It was only through the process of rediscovering the power of the gospel that set me free. Believers must choose to fight to overcome religious, mental health and other spiritual bondage. As a result, they will naturally attract others to Jesus. Although I fell into depression... Read more
