We know that, for the time being, we need to avoid Baltimore if possible until things are brought under control. It's time to be savvy, but not to panic. Read more

Before you judge the Detroit priest who recommended CPL classes for his parish, read this.

While I did raise my eyebrows at the method Fr. Fride had chosen to protect his congregation, my heart was warmed by the degree of his love and concern for them. He obviously cares passionately, which is what every good pastor should do. Read more

Q&A with Roxane Salonen, author of Redeemed by Grace

Last updated on: April 6, 2015 at 10:15 pm   By Marge Fenelon

I was amazed -- and still am -- how complete Ramona's conversion was. Oh, it didn't happen overnight. It took place over many months of her feeling a growing unease about her employer and what they really stand for. But once the scales began falling away from her eyes, her "yes" to God was very sure. Ramona has such a pure heart, such a deep faith. She has suffered and walked in darkness. She has felt, like some, hopeless. Ramona now lives life as a woman who has been given a second chance at life, and you can tell. She lives by the motto, "Jesus I trust in you," and I have become a more faithful person from walking with Ramona these past couple years. She has much to share. This book covers some of the layers. There is more to tell, and little by little, through her speaking, she will do so, for the glory of God. Read more

Not everyone who says “Allah” is a radical Islamist: Conversation with Fr. Nabil Haddad, Founder of the Jordanian Interfaith Coexistance Research Center

Last updated on: April 23, 2015 at 3:37 pm   By Marge Fenelon

The violence and persecutions in the Middle East are closer to us that you may think. Those suffering and dying are our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are bound to them because we all are children of God and in that way, members of the same family. The persecuted Christians aren't "they." The persecuted Christians are "we." Read more

We crashed a wedding in Jordan!

I can testify to that from firsthand experience. I've met folks from many parts of the globe, but I've never met anyone quite like the Jordanians with their humble, sincere, and warm-hearted welcome. Our experience with this wedding was a perfect example. Read more
