No Sleep – What Keeps You Up at Night?

Dads, you are called to be a servant. Once you understand this principle, you’ll probably not get six continuous hours of good sleep ever again. And if you do, you’ll never admit it because it will make your wife mad for the broken-up sleep she got… Listen to this important podcast from the series; The Mark of a Dad.

You are called to be a servant. When you learn that being a servant leader is the only way to lead your family, the reward will be tremendous. As you lead by serving, your children will receive priceless training for leadership, which will ensure that they become healthy, compassionate adults.

What Sleep?

I must warn you though, once you understand this principle, you’ll probably not get six continuous hours of good sleep ever again. And if you do, you’ll never admit it because it will make your wife mad for the broken-up sleep she got when she got up and took care of the teething child.

Dads, there is nothing more comforting to your little one than to have their big strong father assure them at 3:00 am that everything is OK. When they grow up, they will project that onto their relationship with the Heavenly Father, and when they need it most they will know that their Heavenly Father has everything under control.

So, what keeps you up at night? As a father of three, I often spend countless hours at night thinking and praying about the spiritual welfare of my kids. Yet, if I’m totally honest with myself, it is not the prayers that are causing me to lose some of that sleep. It is my perpetual concern that I’m not doing enough for my children. Every once in a while one of them will still wake up in the middle of the night and I get up and pray for them. And I know that I am making a difference in their spiritual lives when I do this.

Don’t Sleep in.

Men, don’t let your wife be the only person getting up at night to feed and burp the baby. Don’t let them be the only ones to comfort the children when they wake up at night and feel scared. Yes, moms can do that too and should, but if dad fails to get up and comfort them at night because he is too tired and has to go to work the next day, he is neglecting one of his rolls as a dad. These kids will grow up and when they do, they will have an internal understanding that God the Father is there to pick them up and help them feel better when life gets tough.

Besides, sharing the load with your wife will bless her and by association, bless you too! So what keeps you up at night?

A Word From The Founder of Manly Training

A Biblical Call To Action

Men, our families need godly men. Our wives need godly men. Our world needs godly men. Will you be a man with me? Let’s show ourselves strong by living for the Lord. Today I ask you to decide, will you be a man or a mouse? Will you be a Godly man or will you turn your back on God? Will you be a man that lives to serve his wife and children or will you be the man that lives to please himself? Choose today what kind of a man you will be, as for me and my sons, we will serve the Lord and be the men that God created us to be. Will you join us?

Truth time: Manly Training Ministries is a full time job – on top of my Full Time Employment and being a husband and a Father! I easily put 40+ hours a week into creating the content for Manly Training– whether it’s dreaming up posts, creating art images, responding to emails and comments, and managing the social media feeds. It’s time to start fundraising for this ministry.

Right now, we only have one way to help us continue to reach men, women and families all over the world. Please pray and consider giving a gift on any amount to this ministry. You can do it through our PATREON account.
