LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

In 2010, a group of folks in Lexington, Kentucky decided there was a better use for wasted produce from stores and farmers markets than, well, wasting it.   That year they gleaned over 37,000 pounds of food from stores and markets and distributed it to organizations serving the hungry. This year they are up to over 370,000 pounds of food (yes, you read that right–a whole extra zero!) and over 25 organizations where they donate food, including soup kitchens, food pantries, emergency and residential shelters, and even an after-school program.

Read more about their project here. Is your community waiting for enterpreneurship like this?
