Celebrating Dr. Rhonda M. Lawson: A Trailblazer in Literature and Leadership

Introduction to Dr. Lawson

Hey, everyone! Today, I want to share the inspiring story of Dr. Rhonda M. Lawson. She’s not just any author; she’s a 23-time published author and the founder of something amazing called Meet the World Image Solutions, LLC. This company helps authors, small business owners, and people in the literary world get the support they need to succeed. Let’s dive into her incredible journey and see what makes her such an influential figure!

A Journey Through Service

First off, did you know that Dr. Lawson is a veteran? That’s right! She served in the Army for 23 years and participated in important missions like Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her military career took her all around the world—from Japan to Hawaii and even to places like Afghanistan and Egypt. While she was serving, she also worked as a journalist, sharing stories and experiences from the field. Her articles appeared in well-known publications, such as Soldiers Magazine and The Army Times.

Awards and Recognition

Throughout her career, Dr. Lawson has received several awards for her hard work and dedication. One of her proudest moments was being named the 1997 Training and Doctrine Command Journalist of the Year. This recognition highlights her talent and commitment to excellence in journalism. After her time in the Army, she didn’t stop there; she also taught journalism at the Defense Information School and served as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland University College. Her experience shows that she is not only a skilled writer but also a great teacher!

The Heart of Literacy and Education

Now, let’s talk about Dr. Lawson’s passion for education and literacy. In 2017, she founded the Black History Month Literary Weekend. This event celebrates Black history while encouraging people to read and write. It’s a fantastic way to honor the past and inspire the future!

In addition, Dr. Lawson created the Meet the World Image Solutions Eighth and Ninth Grade Essay Contest to help students express their thoughts through writing. She also established a scholarship fund in 2021 to support students pursuing their education. Her efforts show how much she cares about helping young people succeed.

Bringing Stories to Life

But wait, there’s more! Dr. Lawson is also a playwright. In 2018, she adapted two of her best-selling novels, *Cheatin’ in the Next Room* and *Twylite*, into stage plays. This shows her versatility and creativity as an artist. Not only does she write books, but she also brings her stories to life on the stage. She plans to turn more of her books into plays, and that’s something to look forward to!
