Win an entire library of Catholic new releases just in time for Advent!

If you’re a Catholic who loves reading Catholic books, you really need to run over to Pete Socks’ blog, The Catholic Book Blogger, here at Patheos and enter the contest he is running. Pete calls it the “CBB Mega Advent Giveaway”. Mega is right–one lucky winner will win 51 books!!

Even more importantly, I want to encourage you to support Pete and The Catholic Book Blogger Phase 3 Fundraising Campaign at GoFundMe.

“Why?” you may be asking… “Don’t you bloggers get paid?”

Um… not necessarily. We’ll leave finances for another day, but I want to share what Pete has explained about his fund drive:

Since November of 2012 I have been providing Catholic book reviews, author interviews and a weekly book giveaway. I consider the launch of The Catholic Book Blogger that year as Phase 1. Phase 2 occured in November of last year when I moved from self-hosting to the Patheos Catholic portal. Now I wish to enter Phase 3. This phase will be an expansion and improvement of what I offer. I hope to secure the funding to upgrade to the equipment necessary for podcasting and audio/video interviews with Catholic authors. Your support will help me do that and I will consider it a sign that this is a service you wish to have.
Blessings,
Pete Socks (The Catholic Book Blogger)

I appreciate Pete’s work from two perspectives. First, as a reader, I love getting Pete’s reviews and the amazing interviews he conducts. If you’re ever in search of a faith-filled book recommendation, Pete is always coming up with something new! But my other perspective on this comes as an author–a Catholic author–who knows the stress and strain of spreading the word about your book. Pete has done a great service for so many of us and our publishing houses. His fund drive will give him the capacity to use new technology to share great book news in new and exciting ways.

I’ve already given a modest donation. If each of us reading this would head over and support Pete, we would take him above his goal in no time. If we want to continue to have great, faithful Catholic books, we need help spreading the word. And Pete has made this his mission.

So enter the contest to win 51 books, and then be an even bigger winner by prayerfully supporting Pete Socks, the Catholic Book Blogger.
