LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

Now ‘Eliysha’ spoke to the woman which he had restored her son to life, saying,

“Arise, and go/walk, you yourself and your house
And sojourn in which you sojourn.
For Yahweh called for famine,
And also it will enter to the land seven years.”

And she arose, the woman, and she did according to the word of the man of the Elohim.
And she went/walked, she and her house
And she sojourned in the land of the Pelishtiym seven years.

And it was from the outskirts (end) of seven years
And she returned, the woman, from the land of Pelishtiym
And she went out to cry out to the king for her house and for her field.

Now the king speaking to Gechaziy the boy of the man of the Elohim, saying,
“Recount, please, to me all the great-things which ‘Eliysha’ has done.”
And it was he himself recounting to the king how that he restored-to-life the dead
Now look! The woman which he restored-to-life her son crying out to the king
on behalf of her house and on behalf of her field.
And said Gechaziy,
“My master, King.
This [is] the woman and this her son, which ‘Eliysha’ restored-to-life.”

And asked the king to the woman and she recounted to him.

And gave to her the king one eunuch saying,
“Cause to return all which [is] to her
And all the yield of the field
From the day she forsook the land and until now.”

And entered ‘Eliysha’ Dammeseq.
Now Son of Hadad king of ‘Aram was sick.
And it was reported to him saying
“A man of the Elohim entered until here.”
And said the king to Chazah’el
“Take in your hand tribute
And go/walk to call the man of the Elohim.
And you inquire Yahweh from him, saying,
‘Will I be restored-to-life from this illness?”
And went Chaza’el to call him.
And he took tribute in his hand and all good of Dammeseq,
burdens of forty camels
And he entered and he stood before his face.
And he said,
“Your son Son of Hadad king of ‘Aram sent me to you, saying,
‘Will I be restored-to-life from this illness.’”
And said to him ‘Eliysha’,
“Go/walk, say,
‘Not living you shall live.’
But Yahweh has caused me to see that dying he shall die.”
And he caused-to-stand his face
And he set until he was ashamed.
And the man of the ‘Elohim wept.
And said Chaza’el,
“Why, my master, weeping?”
And he said,
“Because I know that which you will to do the sons of Yisrael, the evil:
their strongholds you will send out in fire,
And their young men with sword you will kill,
and their little ones you will dash to mush,
And their pregnant women you will split.”
And said Chazah’el,
“What your servant, the dog,
that he should do this great thing?”
And said ‘Eliysha’m
“Yahweh has caused me to see you king over ‘Aram.”
And he went/walked from ‘Eliysha’ and returned to his master.
And he said to him,
“What said to you ‘Eliysha’?”
And he said,
“He said to me, ‘Living you shall live.’”
And it was from tomorrow he took a blanket
And he dipped in water
And spread on his face
And he died.
And Chazah’el reigned-as-king in his place.

Now in the fifth year to Yoram son of ‘Achav king of Yisrael
Now Yhoshafat king of Yehudah,
reigned-as-king Yehoram son of Yehoshafat king of Yehudah.
A son of thirty and two years he was in his reigning-as-king.
And eight years he reigned-as-king in Yrushalaim.
And he walked in the way of the king of Yisrael
According as did the house of ‘Achav,
For the daughter of ‘Achav was to him for a woman/wife.
And he did the evil in the eyes of Yahweh.
But Yahweh was not willing to cause-ruin to Yehudah
On account of David his servant,
According as he spoke to him to give to him a lamb for his sons all the days.
In his days rebelled ‘Edom from under the yand of Yehudah
And a king reigned-as-king over them.
And crossed over Yiram to Tza’iyr and all his chariot with him
And it was he himself arose at night and struck ‘Edom
surrounding to him and the chiefs of the chariot.
And fled the people to his tents.
And rebelled ‘Edom from under the hand of Yehudah until this day.
Then rebelled Livnah in this time.
And the remnant of the words/things of Yoram and all which he did
Are they not writings on the scrolls of the words/things of the days of the kings of Yehudah.
And slept Yoram with his fathers
And he was buried with his fathers in the city of David.
And reigned-as-king ‘Achazyahu his son in his place.

In the twelfth year to Yoram son of ‘Achav king of Yisrael
Reigned-as-king ‘Achazyahu, son of Yehoram king of Yehudah.
A son of twenty and two years ‘Achazyahu in his reigning-as-king.
And one year he reigned-as-king in Yrushalaim.
Now the name of his mother ‘Atalyahu,
daughter of ‘Omriy king of Yisrael.
And he walked in the way of the house of ‘Achav
And he did the evil in the eyes of Yahweh as the house of ‘Achav
For a bridegroom of the house of ‘Achav he.
And he went/walked with Yoram son of ‘Achav to war with ‘Chazah’el king of ‘Aram in Ramoth-gil’ad.
And the ‘Aramiym struck Yoram.
And returned Yoram the king to heal-himself in Yizere’e’l
from the striking which the ‘Aramiym struck at Ramah
in his fighting Chaza’el king of ‘Aram.
Now ‘Achazyahu son of Jehoram king of Yehudah came down to see Yoram son of ‘Achav in Yizere’e’l.
For he himself was sick.
