Click here for Spanish The Christmas season always involves the practice of family traditions such as setting up the nativity scene, who places the angel on top of the Christmas tree and the menu of the delicious meal shared with family members.  Though each family has its own practices and traditions, there are very old traditions imbedded in cultures that celebrate the birth of Christ.  These expressions of popular piety writes Pope Francis, “enable us to see how the faith,... Read more

Last updated on: March 25, 2016 at 6:18 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Advent Repentance

Last updated on: March 25, 2016 at 6:18 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

“You brood of vipers! Produce good fruit as evidence of your repentance.” “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” “Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” “The chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.” With this attitude, I don’t think anyone will be inviting Saint John the Baptist over for dinner, or even a beer. Saint John preaches an inconvenient truth many don’t want to hear, a... Read more

Aquinas State Champions!

Last updated on: March 25, 2016 at 6:20 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

I am a happy and proud alumnus of Aquinas High School. Today Aquinas defeated Calvary Day School 27-7 at the Georgia Dome to become the state champion in the Class A private school championship. After a slow start where Calvary scored a touchdown, Aquinas picked up the pace and did not stop till victory. It was great to see so many familiar faces and so many alumni at the Dome. Go Irish!       Pictures are mine, all rights... Read more

Last night at Saint Teresa of Avila in Grovetown 500 faithful gathered to pray the rosary, watch the Aztec dancers, attend Mass and sing Las Mañanitas to Our Lady of Guadaulpe.  After Mass concluded at 12:45am, everyone enjoyed tamales and hot chocolate while the marachi band continued to play traditional music. Embassy to the Holy See Under Attack?

Last updated on: December 2, 2013 at 12:23 am   By Father Pablo Migone

A few days ago news broke out that the United States was moving its Embassy to the Vatican (the Holy See) to the campus of its Embassy to Italy.  The news reports correctly did not state that the United States was closing its Embassy to the Holy See, but that the United States was consolidating operations into one campus due to safety concerns.  The Embassy to the Holy See would still function as before but at a different location. From... Read more

First Sunday of Advent

Last updated on: March 25, 2016 at 6:21 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

The Archbishop of Milwaukee came to give a conference at my seminary while I was a student.  We were all anticipating his visit.  He had been the rector of the seminary years before and was well known for his great ability to communicate the faith to others.  Many of you know who he is, Archbishop Timothy Dolan, now the Archbishop of New York. I had read a book by him on the priesthood and couldn’t wait to hear his talk.... Read more
