El arte de dar regalos

Last updated on: February 5, 2020 at 11:14 am   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Padre Creador de las Estrellas

Last updated on: February 3, 2020 at 7:00 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Father of Lights

Last updated on: January 31, 2020 at 10:52 am   By Father Pablo Migone

I vividly recall when I was fifteen years old riding on the back of a pick-up truck in the northern Peruvian Amazon.  I had spent the day with my dad around the small town of Cuñumbuque visiting dairy farms.  Up until the previous year the town had been controlled by one of Peru’s main terrorist organizations, and now that the army had liberated it, its people were free to do business with outsiders.  That was why we were there. As... Read more

Remembering Mr. Richard Kremin

Last updated on: January 20, 2020 at 10:19 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Mr. Kremin is dead.  This brief sentence is meaningless for the vast majority who will read it, but for some it will first elicit a profound sadness immediately followed by an unmatched appreciation for the man who dedicated his life to teaching and transforming the lives of high school students.  Nobody really knew much about Mr. Kremin’s personal life, but every student who spent time sitting in room 14 at Aquinas High School was personally touched by learning from and... Read more

The art of giving gifts

Last updated on: January 17, 2020 at 3:31 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

We stopped to buy candy at a small convenience store on the roadside. The bag was excessively large, containing perhaps 100 individually wrapped lollipops, but it had been relatively cheap. We continued to drive on the rough, unpaved road that crossed mile after mile of pristine countryside dotted with zebras, wildebeest, and an occasional giraffe. The sun was beginning to set and the greens, browns, and blues appeared to merge under the spectacular ball of fire that had turned the... Read more

Una misión inesperada

Last updated on: January 4, 2020 at 11:47 am   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

An unexpected mission

Last updated on: January 3, 2020 at 1:03 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

A friend invited me to lunch early one chilly morning before we went to class, and I agreed to meet him later that day.  Minutes after we sat down to eat at the university dining room, he revealed the reason for the invitation: “I need you to come on the medical mission trip to Ecuador because my two translators backed out yesterday.  I need a translator.”  I knew Joe was in charge of the upcoming mission trip, but I had... Read more

The First Christmas Nativity Scene

Last updated on: December 24, 2019 at 10:41 am   By Father Pablo Migone

Last year I had the opportunity to visit the town of Greccio on the Sabine Hills north of Rome, known as the site of the very first nativity scene.  A sanctuary uphill from from the beautiful town of Greccio encases the cave where Saint Francis of Assisi recreated the familiar scene of Bethlehem with an ox, a donkey and a manger on Christmas Eve of 1224.  Villagers from town gathered outside the cave to admire the scene.  A few years... Read more

Homilia para la Misa de Navidad

Last updated on: December 23, 2019 at 2:14 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Our Lady of Guadalupe Bilingual Homily

Last updated on: December 12, 2019 at 11:51 am   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more
