Miracle Worker Father Ubald Dies

Last updated on: February 3, 2021 at 11:51 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Father Ubald Rugirangoga’s Facebook page recently posted: “Father Ubald passed peacefully last night at 11:17pm Mountain Time into the hands of his loving Savior Jesus and His Mother in heaven Mary.  He fought the good fight.  He is in the glory with God and we have a new intercessor in heaven.  Father Ubald pray for us.” When he visited Georgia in March 2019, he gave several talks about the Rwandan Genocide and his peacemaking efforts afterwards.  He led healing services... Read more

An Epiphany to Remember: US Capitol Besieged

Last updated on: January 6, 2021 at 5:59 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

For the first time since the War of 1812 when the British besieged and burnt the US Capitol in Washington DC, the Capitol Building has been besieged.  Supporters of President Trump overwhelmed the capitol police this afternoon, disrupted the work of elected officials, and vandalized federal property.  Millions of us have been glued to the television all afternoon watching in utter amazement at pictures from our capital. As I watch and listen, one phrase echoes in my mind: “words have... Read more

Alégrense, Jesús ha nacido

Last updated on: December 27, 2020 at 6:17 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Rejoice, Jesus is born

Last updated on: December 26, 2020 at 3:12 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

A beautiful sixteenth century Christmas carol opens with this line inviting listeners to rejoice in the birth of the Christ – Rejoice Christ is born of the Virgin Mary, Rejoice!  I first heard this beautiful, brisk carol while in seminary.  Its catchy tune and repeating refrain are both difficult to remove from the mind once they are heard. After our waiting throughout Advent, after lighting the candles of the wreath, we celebrate... Read more

Adviento y el Paso del Tiempo

Last updated on: December 11, 2020 at 3:14 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Advent and the Passing of Time

Last updated on: December 10, 2020 at 12:39 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

When I was in college I decided that I would not be ruled by time.  I refused to wear a watch.  I did not have a cell phone.  Amazingly, I was never late to wherever I needed to go.  I learned to be attentive to people and activities around me to determine the passage of time.  I developed a fairly accurate internal clock.  Despite my desire to rebel against time, clocks kept ticking and the world kept revolving around the... Read more

Escuchar más, hablar menos

Last updated on: December 1, 2020 at 3:33 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Listen more, speak less

Last updated on: November 30, 2020 at 3:10 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

I recall my grandfather say once, “the more someone speaks the more likely he or she will say something dumb.”  I agree with him.  It is always better to listen more and to speak less.  Unfortunately today in society everyone speaks, but not many listen.  The number of outlets to express opinions has rapidly multiplied in the last few decades – I venture to say that the internet has so much information that several lifetimes would not be enough... Read more

Un camino a seguir en la pandemia

Last updated on: November 19, 2020 at 3:09 pm   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more

Last updated on: November 14, 2020 at 9:56 am   By Father Pablo Migone

Read more
