WILLS POINT, TX — Amid the sorrow of millions of believers around the world after it was announced that K.P. Yohannan departed in the presence of God, we wanted to repost these thoughts from our founder, originally written in 2022 in response to a news media filled with heartbreak and uncertainty. Our prayer remains that his legacy will continue to inspire the Church to continue on according to the Great Commission we have received, being faithful to bring the Gospel to our generation, just as Metropolitan K.P. continuously urged.

=====

What a privilege it is to know we are part of deep-seated transformation in homes and communities around the world. Lives are fundamentally changing after encountering the love of Christ.

But this doesn’t happen on its own. It happened because God raised up men and women to share His love, and they lived with a commitment to that purpose.

I heard of a boy named Shankar who was born in a leprosy colony to parents stricken with leprosy.

In order to save him from contracting the disease, a national worker offered to raise him in a home he had built for the children of people with leprosy.

There, Shankar received a good education and, with it, a chance to make a better life for himself.

The Delhi Diocese has a ministry work among the lepers in Seemapuri, Delhi. Geeva, Father Jagan’s wife, runs the work here with several of the Sisters of Compassion. The ministry is multifaceted covering health, education, employment and advocacy. The area is almost slum like and looks impoverished. Two of the Sisters of Compassion are standing outside the ministry center.Along the way, Shankar gave his life to the Lord and felt God wanted him to go into full-time ministry.

Just before Shankar graduated from Bible college, the brother serving in the leprosy colony told him he was free to go to a new place and start a new work. Shankar replied that he would work among his own people, the leprosy patients, and tell them what the Lord had done for him and how He could help them.

Today, Shankar has laid down everything he has gained, and his chance for a better life, to live and work in the colony.

He remembered his purpose.

We too must keep our purpose in mind—at all times. Let us not forget why we are here.

God is looking for people with a commitment that will bring true hope to our generation.

Thank you for being one of these people!

I’m grateful for every sponsor’s commitment to pray and give, to equip brothers and sisters on the mission field, men and women just like Shankar.

God is using us to bring lasting hope to people who had never heard of Him before.

May He give us all the grace to continue running the race for Him.
