- We Must Be Men and Women of Godly Character

Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
We are at a crossroads.
The Lord has entrusted us with many souls who need to hear of His love. Let us then have ears to hear the plea of the Holy Spirit to live differently, keep eternity in mind, divorce ourselves from the world, guard what has been entrusted to us, work hard, teach others, endure hardship, stay pure, remain faithful and fulfill the ministry.
In essence, we must be men and women of godly character, who, in the midst of much compromise, choose to stay true to Christ and His call and thus fulfill the purpose for which He has called us.
A GFA-supported missionary stands in prayer for his village.
As I close my eyes and try to feel the heartbeat of Paul, I can almost hear him say, “Timothy, follow my example, son. I did not give up, no matter how much hunger, nakedness, beatings, shipwreck, imprisonment, rejection and misunderstanding I faced.
Compromise may surround you. This journey will be an uphill climb. But for you—you stay on course. The wind that will blow against your face may be bitter cold and fierce. Your Lord faced that same wind against Him—don’t expect any less as you follow Him.”
Godly Character – It’s Your Choice
This kind of living is a choice that only you can make—only you can choose to press on. God’s grace will meet you at the point of your decision. When others around you, even those you may have once esteemed, look for an easier, more relaxed road, only you can make the choice to press past that and continue your pursuit, pressing on toward the mark.
No matter what others may be doing or what may be accepted as the norm, hear the Lord Jesus saying, But for you, you follow Me. Set your hand to the plow, and My grace will be there to keep you, if only you choose to stand against the wind and press on toward the higher call.
Will you be one to stand out from the rest and be remembered in heaven and on earth for the impact you made upon your generation? Will you choose to stand against the wind and be recognized by God in His search for men?
Stand Up and Stand Out
Today, make the choice to stand against the wind.
Dr. KP Yohannan, founder and director of Gospel for Asia, has written more than 200 books, including Revolution in World Missions, an international bestseller with more than 4 million copies in print. His Road to Reality radio program airs on more than 200 outlets worldwide. He and his wife, Gisela, have two grown children, Daniel and Sarah, who both serve the Lord with their families.
Gospel for Asia has been serving the “least of these” in Asia since its beginning in 1979, often in places where no one else is serving. GFA supports national workers who are serving as the hands and feet of Christ by ministering to people’s needs so they can understand the love of God for them for the first time. GFA is engaged in dozens of projects, such as caring for poor children, slum dwellers and widows and orphans; providing clean water by funding wells; supporting medical missions; and meeting the needs of those in leprosy colonies. Through GFA’s Bridge of Hope Program, tens of thousands of children are being rescued from the generational curses of poverty and hopelessness.
