Scottie Scheffler Wins The Players Championship Again
Last updated on: March 17, 2024 at 9:50 pm By Kermit Zarley
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler made history just minutes ago by coming from way behind today to shoot an 8-under par 64 for a 20-under par 268 total at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Florida, to win the 50th Players Championship by one stroke over three players: Wyndham Clark, Xander Schauffele, and Brian Harman. It was a very exciting finish. For a while, the television coverage of the tournament was focused mostly on the last pairing, a twosome of... Read more

Wyndham Clark Needs to Tee Up His Ball
Last updated on: March 17, 2024 at 9:50 pm By Kermit Zarley
The Worst Mistakes in Golf The two worst mistakes pro golfers can make in golf tournaments is to be more than five minutes late to their tee times or sign their scorecards having a lower score than they actually made. The penalty for both mistakes is severe: disqualification. There are other mistakes golfers can make that don’t have such a severe penalty, but they still can add strokes to their score. If you watched the PGA Tour’s marquee event today... Read more

Senator Chuck Schumer’s Israel Speech Was Right On
Last updated on: March 16, 2024 at 8:34 am By Kermit Zarley
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), a Jew, gave a critical speech yesterday to the U.S. Senate about Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his conduct of Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. It was, in my opinion, right on the mark. Now, I’ve always been an independent voter who voted mostly Republican. Yet I think Democrat Chuck Schumer is a pretty good politician who has some wisdom and, being Jewish, he has more insight into what is best... Read more

Dr. James Tabor Puts Two of My Books in Elite Company
Last updated on: March 15, 2024 at 1:19 am By Kermit Zarley
My Friend Dr. James Tabor I have been a friend of Dr. James Tabor for about 40 years. Since 1989, he has been the Professor of Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He retired in 2022. Yet he continues his work by means of his Tabor Blog, producing videos, and perhaps still doing some archaeological work in the Holy Land, which he has done much in the past. The wikipedia article about... Read more

Taking Self Belief Too Far, Into the World of Unreality
Last updated on: March 14, 2024 at 10:46 pm By Kermit Zarley
Three PGA Tour pros are leading the first round in The Players Championship today after carding a seven-under par 65 at the Tour-owned TPC Sawgrass located at Ponte Vedra, Florida. They are four-time major winner Rory McIlroy, and current U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark, and consistent Exander Schaufelle. All three are currently among the top contenders in the four major golf tournaments in the world, and this tournament is often regarded as “the fifth major.” After Exander Schaufelle’s round today,... In Golf, The Swing’s the Thing
Last updated on: March 13, 2024 at 10:04 pm By Kermit Zarley
I don’t think there has ever been more analysis in various sports about the proper action that brings success than there has been in the game of golf. That is, there has been so much teaching about how to swing a golf club properly than how to swing a baseball bat, how to throw a football, or how to shoot a basketball. Don’t get me wrong; there has been plenty of analysis in these other sports about proper technique regarding... Read more

Scottie Scheffler Wins Again
Last updated on: March 11, 2024 at 6:07 am By Kermit Zarley
Scottie Scheffler just proved again, two hours ago, that he is the best golfer on Planet Earth by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by Mastercard at Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida. The crowd chanted “Scott-ie, Scott-ie! as the now bearded, popular Texan went from tied for the lead with Shane Lowry this morning to a five-stroke victory over current U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark with a five-under par 66 for a 72-hole total of 15-under 273.... Do West Bank Jewish Settlements Prevent a Palestinian State?
Last updated on: March 8, 2024 at 10:12 pm By Kermit Zarley
Volker Turk, The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said today of the Israeli-occupied West Bank that Jewish “settler violence and settlement-related violations have reached shocking new levels, and risk eliminating any practical possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state.” He said that because the traditional thinking is that a Palestinian state can only be established where Palestinians have lived in the past century or more–the West Bank and Gaza Strip. But as I keep harping for all these many... Read more

USA Again Denies UFOs Are Aliens
Last updated on: March 8, 2024 at 4:41 pm By Kermit Zarley
Today, the U.S. government released the report of its exhaustive investigation of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects), now called UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena), and it denies the existence of “extraterrestrial” intelligent life. This report dates back to U.S. government involvement in trying to identify UFOs since the late 1940s. The word “extraterrestrial” is generally understood as physical life originating in this universe from somewhere other than planet Earth. That’s how “aliens” are usually understood. I have blogged a lot about this... Read more

The World’s First Superman Coronavirus Fighter
Last updated on: March 6, 2024 at 5:57 pm By Kermit Zarley
Some 62-year guy in Germany has been “hypervaccinated” with 217 COVID-19 vaccination shots by his own choosing. It came to the attention of German law enforcement and then health authorities due to a fraud investigation. But the details of it appear to remain secret. He had 130 of these 217 coronavirus vaccinations in a period of nine months. When asked why he did it, he said it was for “private reasons.” His case was reported Monday in the Lancet Infectious...
