Trump’s Coronavirus Speech Today Helped and Hurt
Last updated on: March 13, 2020 at 7:08 pm By Kermit Zarley
Well, I said in my last post I would not post about Trump for a while. I wasn’t quite right. I will post if I believe what he says or does relates to Christian teaching and or the Bible. Today, President Trump gave a lengthy speech outside the White House in a News Conference with about a couple dozen people he collected from the federal government and private sector to accompany him. The main takeaway was that he declared a... Read more

Fake President!
Last updated on: March 7, 2020 at 6:37 pm By Kermit Zarley
U.S. President Donald Trump’s several recent, public statements about the spreading “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated COVID-19 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention=CDC) is just further proof of what I’ve been writing on my blog every since he campaigned for the U.S. presidency (maybe 150 posts until now) that he is unqualified to be president of this nation. Since he constantly and unjustly, in my opinion, berates the media by calling it “FAKE NEWS,” I’m now calling him a... Read more

Update Trump-Kushner Mideast Peace Plan
Last updated on: March 5, 2020 at 10:50 pm By Kermit Zarley
Jared Kushner–U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, advisor, and co-author of the Trump administration’s recent plan put forth to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict–held a bipartisan meeting yesterday with members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to update them on this new Mid-East peace plan. (See plan map here.) Palestinian leaders already had rejected this plan before it was even revealed, in late January. But Kushner reported that the plan has received positive reviews by Israeli leaders and even some Arab leaders.... Read more

Who Believed in Easter First: Mary or John?
Last updated on: February 27, 2020 at 12:33 pm By Kermit Zarley
Some rationalists might say, “If I could see a miracle, I’d believe in the supernatural.” Or some skeptics might say, with Easter now near, “If I could have seen Jesus alive, I would have believed in his resurrection from the dead.” Yet, Jesus said multiple times, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign” (Matthew 12.39; 16.4), that is, in order to believe in the supernatural. And when doubting Thomas saw the risen Jesus, with the holes in his... Read more

Is Trump’s Evangelical Team Worrisome?
Last updated on: February 28, 2020 at 3:33 pm By Kermit Zarley
I think some aspects are. Let’s look into them. It is ironic that President Donald Trump has gathered around himself as advisors several outspoken Evangelical Christians even though he himself has demonstrated throughout his life to the present time that he is anything but that even though he publicly acknowledges God. Regrettably, a sizable portion of American Evangelicals also have been outspoken in their opposition to protecting earth’s environment and even human health. This has been typical of many Republicans... Read more

Patrick Reed Wins WGC-Mexico Championship
Last updated on: February 24, 2020 at 9:39 am By Kermit Zarley
The leaders jostled around yesterday in the PGA Tour’s WGC-Mexico Championship until Masters champion (2018) Patrick Reed birdied three successive holes at the end to emerge as victor with a final round, four-under par, 67. It seemed to silence his critics, even if momentarily. Like President Donald Trump, critics have been accusing Patrick Reed of cheating at golf. But Reed is no reed blowing in the wind. He seems to easily blow off that chatter. And he showed it yesterday... Read more

Bible Prophecy Frees Being Stuck in the Past to See the Future
Last updated on: February 21, 2020 at 9:45 am By Kermit Zarley
Jim Cramer, host of CNBC’s “Mad Money,” just admitted on CNBC why so many supposed experts have been getting it so wrong about Tesla, saying, “we are too old.” That’s what happens the older we get–we look more and more to the past and therefore can’t see the future. I get amused listening to, or reading statements by, some of these experts about the gasoline-powered car industry and giving their prognostications about electric vehicles. For example, Bob Lutz has been... Read more

Which Is Worse: Rejecting Christmas or Easter?
Last updated on: February 28, 2020 at 3:13 pm By Kermit Zarley
N. T. Wright, whom I know, is arguably the preeminent biblical scholar in the world. He has authored over seventy books about Christian theology and biblical studies. In late 2019, The Washington Post’s religion editor Sarah Pulliam Bailey interviewed Tom Wright about his thoughts on Brexit, American President Donald Trump, and the so-called “war on Christmas” that has recently emerged in the U.S. but fails to resonate in the UK. Wright compared the importance of Christmas and Easter by saying,... Read more

Barr Blames Trump Tweets
Last updated on: February 19, 2020 at 12:11 am By Kermit Zarley
It was just reported four hours ago that Attorney General William Barr has told some President Trump allies in recent days that if the president doesn’t quit tweeting about certain criminal cases, Barr may quit his job as head of the Department of Justice. This has especially to do with the Roger Stone case. Stone is that goofy guy with the huge Nixon tattoo on his back who has been charged with involvement in the Wiki Leaks regarding Hilary Clinton’s... Read more

Adam Scott Wins Genesis Invitational
Last updated on: February 16, 2020 at 5:25 pm By Kermit Zarley
Thirty-nine year old Adam Scott, the pure-swinging and long-hitting Aussie, just made it official by winning the Genesis Invitational at his favorite golf course on the PGA Tour, Riviera Country Club, by two strokes over three fellow competitors who were tied for second: Matt Kuchar, Sung Kang, and Scott Brown. It was “official” because Scott had won this event back in 2004, but it had been rain-shortened to 36 holes, making it an unofficial win. This was Adam Scott’s fourteenth... Read more
