U.S. President Donald Trump turned eighty years old yesterday. When his second presidential term comes to an end, in 2.5 years from now, he will be the oldest president in U.S. history. Many Americans and some doctors are questioning Trump’s health, especially whether he is in the early stages of dementia, since his father suffered from it and died from it. Thus, many Americans are wondering is Trump is “losing it” mentally and perhaps physically. But there is another way to think about “losing it.”
Trump Now Has His Sycophants in Office
This time around, Donald Trump has been conducting his presidency more and more the way he wanted to in the first place, but some of his advisors were rightly persuading him otherwise at that time. Not this second time around. President Trump has put in place sycophants who do his bidding no matter what it is, just to get his approval.
For example, Trump now has his former personal attorney, Todd Blanche, as the nation’s Acting Attorney General. He is carrying out Trump’s wish to exert vengeance on his political enemies, largely by bringing lawsuits against them. And President Trump has a war monger, Pete Hegseth, as his Secretary of Defense. He was a nobody in the military who later caught Trump’s fancy as a host on TV’s Fox News. Hegseth is way out front with his brand of Christianity as a guy who loves war, loves killing people.
An example is the many boats of alleged drug smugglers that the U.S. Navy, at Hegseth’s command, has blown out of international waters without those people having had the opportunity to defend themselves in a U.S. court. To further signify his love for killing, Hegseth is trying to change the name of the U.S. Department of Defense to the Department of War, which is surely most odious to non-Americans. Yet Hegseth is conducting Bible studies in our government buildings and making speeches to the military about being a Christian. I can’t view a person like that as a genuine Christian.
Trump Trashes America’s Reputation Worldwide
Just these two examples give us some idea of how President Donald Trump, this time around, is doing the opposite of his motto Make America Great Again (MAGA) by making America most obnoxious to many Americans and a lot more non-Americans worldwide. Thus, on the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, President Donald Trump is ruining the nation’s reputation throughout the world. An example was his staged UFC Freedom 250 mixed martial arts fight outside the White House last night. Many have compared this bloody spectacle to the Roman Empire and its gladiator fights at Rome’s coliseum. What a degradation!
Trump began his second presidency by raising tariffs on all nations worldwide at least 10% on April 2, 2025. He called it “Liberation Day.” He only had the authority to do it by claiming a national emergency, which was a lie. The court proved it this year by striking it down, making the government repay Americans. It’s one of many of Trump, the Big Litigator, losing in the courts. There, he is proving himself to be a Big Loser, the title he hates more than any other since he is all about winning.
Then there is the Iran war that began February 28th this year and supposedly ends this Friday with the signing of a peace agreement, but really only a Memorandum of Understanding (MofU) that ends the fighting and opens the Strait of Hormuz. But all during these 3.5 months, not only Americans have suffered financially for this war but the rest of the world has suffered financially for it more. And it is not resulting in Trump’s original purpose for the war—to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon. Many experts are saying that the U.S. comes out of this as a loser whereas Trump will surely put the spin on it that the U.S. is a winner. Because of this war, Iran now knows that it has the ability to close the Strait of Hormuz, thereby cutting off at least one fifth of the world’s oil and natural gas imports that it needs so desperately to live on.
What Does Jesus Say?
I explain all about this in my book, Bible Predicts Trump Fall. It is mostly 200, one-page posts during Trump’s first presidency showing his ineptitude to be president. Most of all, Donald Trump is the biggest liar I have ever seen in my lifetime. He deceived evangelicals to get elected president while living and talking exactly the opposite of Jesus and his teaching. Just look at the first book of the New Testament, the Gospel of Matthew, to see how often Jesus taught profoundly about winning and losing at life:
“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it” (Matthew 10.39).
“For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it” (Matthew 16.25).
“But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first” (Matthew 19.30).
“So the last will be first, and the first will last” (20.16).
Thus, being a big braggart like Trump, constantly putting himself above others and judging other people when he has a log in his own eye (Matthew 7.1-5), is the opposite of what Jesus teaches. What does Jesus teach? Humility, kindness, love of neighbor, and respect for others. Donald Trump is like what the apostle Paul predicts will be common during the end times, “In the last days” when “distressing times will come,” then “people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, abusive, … slanderers, profligates, brutes, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to the outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid them!” (2 Timothy 3.1-5 (NRSV).
Mike Pence Should Have Avoided Donald Trump
Mike Pence accepted Trump’s invitation to be his vice presidential running mate during Trump’s first campaign for the U.S. presidency, in 2016. Pence was and is a strong evangelical Christian who Trump chose to try to get the evangelical vote. Pence is to be commended for standing firm on verifying the 2020 presidential election results, in which Trump lost to Biden even though Trump then and now constantly lies about it being a fraudulent election that he really won.
Yet in my opinion, and I believe what would have been the apostle Paul’s opinion, Pence should never have accepted Donald Trump’s invitation to be his vice presidential running mate, but instead should have AVOIDED TRUMP just as Paul teaches in 2 Timothy 3.5. For, I do not believe that Donald Trump ever would have won the presidency without Pence—who was a well known evangelical who was not that well known politically, but was well regarded in the evangelical community.
Trump’s Latest Sayings
Just look at what President Donald Trump has said publicly in the last few days, even though most Americans have suffered with the ailing economy and inflation:
“I love the inflation.” – Remarks made Wednesday, June 10, 2026, during an exchange with reporters in the Oval Office.
“I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation, not even a little bit.” Remarks made on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, as he was speaking to reporters on the White House south lawn before boarding a flight to Beijing for a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“I don’t care about the midterms.” Remarks made on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, during a White House Cabinet meeting.
Because of statements like this and many more, plus his actions as president, Trump’s poll ratings are about as bad as it gets, at 30% approval or worse.
Conclusion
So, am I right that the Bible Predicts Trump’s Fall? Yet, I state at the end of the book, “Nevertheless, as I concluded in this book’s preface, I wish no ill toward Donald J. Trump, but only what the apostle Peter says of God—’ not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance’ (2 Peter 3.9). Yet I also believe in justice.”
My conclusion: either Trump repents, or Trump loses it. What is your conclusion?
