Georgia May Prosecute Trump for Election Meddling 2021-01-16T20:59:32-07:00 Kermit Zarley

Many Republican members of Congress are upset with Republican President Trump for his constant rhetoric following the presidential election, which he lost to Joe Biden, in which he accused the State of Georgia of election fraud and that state officials could not be trusted in the election runoff for both Senate seats which occurred days ago since neither party had attained more than a one per cent advantage in votes compared to his or her opponent. The two Republican candidates looked like they would defeat their Democratic rivals. But both Trump and one of his lawyers were so adamant about the Georgia election being corrupt that it is believed that their accusations caused many Republican voters to not vote in the runoff, resulting in both Republican candidates losing.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell supposedly has blamed Trump for that runoff election loss. It was so important because it resulted in a 50-50 tie in the Senate between Republicans and Democrats, and the deciding vote in matters for the next four years can be determined by Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris casting an additional vote, making it 51 Republican votes to 50 Democrat votes. Thus, the Republicans lost control of the Senate and Mitch will no longer be its Majority Leader.
But there is one other thing that caused Republican voters in Georgia to lose that election runoff. Georgia prosecutors are considering an investigation of President Trump for election meddling in his effort to overturn the results of the previous, presidential election that was two months prior to the runoff election.
These prosecutors are focused especially on President Trump’s phone call to Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on January 2d in which Trump pressured him for about an hour to declare Trump the winner of Georgia’s presidential election when in fact Joe Biden won that election. Trump said to Raffensperger, in a phone call that was recorded, “I just want you to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have.” He meant find that many more votes that supposedly had not been counted. Trump gave that number because the official vote count was that Biden won by 11,779 Georgia votes more than Trump got. As I have posted before, that language is typical Trump mob talk, being from New York City which has been the epicenter of the nation’s Mafia.
Michael J. Moore, the former U.S. attorney of the Middle District of Georgia, said of this phone call–the script of which has been made public–“it tracks the communication you might see in any drug case or organized crime case. It’s full of threatening undertone and strong-armed tactics.”
If President Trump ever avoids being charged with federal crimes, that will not exempt him from state crimes such as possible election meddling in Georgia. For example, Trump’s own former state, New York, is investigating him for various possible crimes such as money laundering and bank and insurance fraud. If Trump is indicted in Georgia for election meddling, the jurisdiction would be Fulton County which encompasses Atlanta, which has a large black population. Blacks generally believe Donald Trump is quite racist against the, which I do too. The new district attorney there in Fultion County is Fani Willis, a black woman.
