Yesterday, U.S. President Donald Trump said to reporters who were flying with him on Air Force One across Asia that former heads of U.S. intelligence agencies were “political hacks.” And he even named them: former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Furthermore, Trump called former FBI Director James Comey, whom he fired earlier this year, “a liar.”

Baloney! I’m now am going to called this what it is: Donald Trump is a great big, lying bullshitter! I’m sure not alone about this. That’s pretty much what both father and son past presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush have come out saying lately. Most previous top government officials who believe this are just being more diplomatic about it in their public comments.

Those past law enforcement officials take pride in being apolitical in their job. Of course, each one no doubt had his own political leanings. But they could do their job apart from that. Officials who have worked in those agencies constantly have said this.

Plus, I think all three of those law men–Brennan, Clapper, and Comey, even though I criticized Comey’s handling of the Clinton email investigation last year–have been outstanding, truthful, and patriotic USA law officials. Moreover, Brennan and Clapper always show much integrity in their public statements about this subject.

As far back as May this year, Democratic Senator from Virginia, Mark Warner, as head of the Senate Intelligence Committee conducting its own Russian probe into our presidential election last year, at a hearing questioned six present law enforcement officials as to whether or not the Russian government or its operatives hacked and/or leaked information to influence that election. Earlier, the CIA had said Russia had. All six officials, including CIA Director Mike Pompei, whom Trump recently had selected, answered “yes.”

I live in Arizona. Our two senators are John McCain and Jeff Flake. Both are Republicans as is Donald Trump. But I would argue that Trump is not really a Republican. Rather, Donald Trump is for Donald Trump. No Republican members of Congress have been pushing back harder against Trump’s lies and foolishness than Senators McCain and Flake. And they are doing it as respectable and articulate statesmen. That cannot be said of Trump due to his many rhetorical pronouncements, tweets, and constant derogatory name calling of his opponents, such as calling the former First Lady and Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, “Crooked Hilary.” America needs to listen to McCain and Flake.

Why is Donald Trump so obsessed with calling special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible Russian meddling in our presidential election last year “a hoax” and “a witch hunt”? Trump is no investigator. What does he know? And he was calling it that back when FBI Director James Comey was leading this investigation.

I think it’s obvious; Trump has something serious to hide about it. It is totally abnormal for the president of the USA to make those allegations about such an investigation unless he and/or his subordinates during the election were guilty of conspiring with the Russians to get Donald Trump elected. Instead, an innocent, patriotic president would encourage such an investigation into a leading nation such as Russia–our longtime adversary in the Cold War as the communistic Soviet Union–meddling in our democratic process to elect our government officials. If you are really a patriotic American, and therefore believe in our form of democracy, it would be the only thing to do, that is, to endorse the investigation.

One of the strongest pieces of evidence indicating this is so is that early this year, three different times President Trump privately asked FBI Director Comey if the FBI had him under investigation about possible Russian collusion. All three times Comey answered “no.” Why would Trump do that if was innocent? The ruse that he asked that because he didn’t want his election results to be tinted doesn’t fly. Then, when Trump sort of tried to get Comey to end this investigation, and Comey refused, President Trump fired him. (That in it itself is possible obstruction of justice that could be an impeachable offense.)

Moreover, days later, Trump admitted publicly that he fired Comey since he wouldn’t stop this investigation. And when President Trump was with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, he said this and in jest called James Comey “a nut job.” If that’s not evidence that Trump is guilty, I don’t know what is. It is so obvious. Americans who don’t see this have blinders on.

I think the evidence shows that President Donald Trump is in big trouble, and he knows it. That’s why he says so many crazy things. Trump’s constant praising of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and assertion that U.S. economic sanctions against Russia should be lifted, is further evidence of this. Trump does it because he worries that Putin has significant evidence implicating Trump regarding the investigation.

Mueller’s investigation is getting closer to Trump. Time will tell whether Trump himself is guilty of collusion with the Russian government or not. Still, if he is, it may be difficult to prove. But Mueller, as former FBI director of twelve years, has a stellar, persistent reputation as a law enforcement official with especially career members of Congress. We’ll just have to wait and see. But whether of not Donald Trump is guilty of this or not, It think his word isn’t worth a flip and those law enforcement officials most certainly are not political hacks.
