After The Ritual: The Messiness of Spiritual Growth
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 5:59 pm By Cyndi Brannen
When the ritual ends, the magick is usually only just getting started. The medicine we received – the spiritual transformation sought – needs time to work. After the candles have been extinguished, the offerings look sad, and we’ve cried all the tears possible. There’s dripped wax on the carpet, tissues everywhere and holes in the altar cloth from who knows what. Internally we often feel the same way. The post-ritual reality is usually messy. Read more

Hekate’s Serpent Medicine And The Awakening Of The Inner Snake Goddess
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 6:04 pm By Cyndi Brannen
Serpents, one of Hekate’s most favored animals, are a sign she sends to bring us deep healing. Serpents poison that which no longer serves us. They awaken our physical being and pull us down from over-activation of the mind. The serpent lies deep within us, it is our soul resting until we are ready. When serpent arrives as a symbol, this is a sign that the time has come for you to unleash the divine snake goddess within. Read more

Why Hekate And Her Witches Are Necessary Now More Than Ever
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 6:09 pm By Cyndi Brannen
Hekate is not a goddess for everyone, but she is absolutely necessary for humanity to survive, just as we, her witches, are. Not those who dabble at sorcery or manifestation, but those of us who go deep into the night to retrieve our souls, and shine the light for others so they, too, can find healing in her dark, wet womb. We are a requirement for this planet, with a vital role to play in maintaining the balance of the world. Read more

Witchcraft Is My Medicine
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 6:20 pm By Cyndi Brannen
Witchcraft is the medicine that heals the spirit and nourishes the soul for those who walk this crooked path. It’s not found in a pill or in a ball of light, but in the pungent scent of herbs, the wild energy of the natural world, and under the pale moonlight. For centuries, our true medicine has been robbed by others who they sought to silence us. Now the time has come to reclaim our medicine. Read more

Living In A House of Spirits
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 6:25 pm By Cyndi Brannen
While there may be those who don't care for the prospect of having a house full of spirits, I'm not one of them. Spirits are everywhere among us; the challenge is for us to let the right ones in and banish the harmful ones. Cleansing of our home and following up with excellent protection wards helps to ensure that the home and its resident spirits are happy. Read more

Keeping Her Keys Turns 2: Together We Rise
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 6:30 pm By Cyndi Brannen
I've been keeping my keys, speaking my truth, and taking up space here on Patheos Pagan for two years now. This has been a wild broom ride that all began with Hekate insisting that I answer this call. She whispered to me, "take my hand and we'll make it, I swear." Her hand offered me the keys of this amazing journey. Now when the Mother speaks through rock n' roll, I heed her words. If there is one thing I've learned since starting this venture, it is this is 100% true. Along the way, I've offered my hand, through my words, to many of you. Read more

Fair Is Foul And Foul Is Fair: Witchcraft And Deception
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 6:43 pm By Cyndi Brannen
The witch possesses the power to transform what is foul into beauty, and what is fair into ugliness. This is healing of ourselves and others, but it’s also been perceived as illusion and trickery, rendering us suspect by those who can’t control us. Here in our modern evolving of the meaning of witchcraft, denying the power of deception we inherently possess renders us susceptible to those who would still imprison us. In particular, those that deny the rightful place of deception in witchcraft are deceiving themselves. Read more

The Witch Reborn in Autumn: Spiritual Death and the Dance of Bones
Last updated on: June 11, 2020 at 7:21 pm By Cyndi Brannen
Do you hear their call? The night wandering spirits of the Witch Mother's horde beckon me this time of year, as does she, calling me to dance with them. The spirits of the land join with the fallen leaves, celebrating the season of letting go. As the leaves release the tree, so do I cast off what binds. Finding freedom in shedding a form that no longer serves us. The Dance of Bones, where all is reduced to the soul and the entrapments of the material world removed is nigh. Read more
