Newsworthy With Norsworthy: Get Ready for Some Awesome 2016-05-29T22:00:56-05:00 Jonathan Storment

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

NWNLogoMay2015-900x900This past week, I sat down with my frenemy Luke Norsworthy to do our monthly wrap up of his podcast from the month of May.

Despite his appearance, Luke is a great interviewer and I highly recommend subscribing to his podcast.

He is the Oprah of Churches of Christ and has interviewed just about every author I’ve ever read.

This month we talked about his interviews with Paul Wallace and his new book “The Stars Beneath Us” and the epic podcast/hipster speak-easy that Luke co-hosted with Tripp Fuller feat. N.T. Wright, Richard Beck, Greg Boyd, and Tony Jones.

We discussed what it was like getting to sit down with the director of the brand new Jesus movie “Last Days in the Desert” starring Ewan McGregor, and why we don’t, generally speaking, like Christian movies that much.

And we talked about the great ministry of, and interview with our mutual friend Sally Gary, who runs a non-profit called Center Peace dedicated to creating safe spaces in churches for people dealing with same-sex attraction.

Luke’s interviewed everyone from Barbara Brown Taylor to Pete Rollins and Richard Rohr, and one of the things I appreciate about his podcast is that I feel like he asks just the questions I would ask if I was sitting down with these great ministers/writers/thinkers.

If you haven’t heard of this podcast, I highly recommend it. You can subscribe to it here and Get Ready for some awesome.
