About Buying “Penguins”

About Buying “Penguins” 2007-08-02T17:38:51-08:00 John Shore

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

People have been writing to say that their local bookstores don’t carry Penguins, the book of mine about which I last blogged. I’m sorry, I should have said: by far the easiest way to get hold of that book is through an online bookseller such as Amazon, or Barnes and Noble. Small titles such as this one simply don’t have the kind of distribution enjoyed by so many of the other 200,000 books published each year.

Two hundred thousand book a year! That’s soooooooo crazy.

Anyway, if you wanna buy a copy of Penguins, save your feet or dialing/poking finger some trouble by either going to its Amazon page (here), or snagging it here on the Barnes & Noble site. You can also, of course, buy it directy from its publisher, here. Thanks. Sorry I forgot how easy it is to assume that all bookstores carry all books. (That is the dream, though. Well. Assuming we want bookstores the size of the United Nations building. Which I think people might enjoy. I, however, would not be amongst them. If I go into a Borders or Barnes & Noble now, I get so overwhelmed by number of books for sale I usually end up on the floor curled in the fetal position somewhere in the Reference section. Where, invariably, someone sits on me, and starts reading.)
