My Spiritual Battle Plan
2 Chronicles 14:1-15
INTRODUCTION:
Have you got your prayer armor on? Before someone can go out to battle, they need their armor on. With prayer as your armor, you can fight the battles that happen in your life and win.
Assess the situation. (v.8-10)
1. He was outnumbered 4 to 1.
2. The enemy’s army was well-equipped.
Recall the Lord’s power. “Lord it is nothing…” (v.11)
1. Asa remembered the stories of God helping His people.
2. God brought victory over m any enemies through His power:
The Red Sea
The Philistines
Overcoming many enemies.
Asa remembered that God had power.
Make a simple request. “Help us.” (v.11)
1. Two simple words. In these words Asa acknowledged that he was powerless without God’s help. “Without Me, you can do nothing.”
2. God answers simple requests, not complicated ones. Many times our complicated situations can be solved by asking these two simple words.
Openly promise to follow God’s plan against all odds. “In Your name, we go” (v.11)
Prayer must be asked with a desire to do God’s will.
We must confess that we will do it the way God wants it.
Rest on God’s provision. “We rest in you.” (v.11)
1. We must trust that God’s way is best.
2. Rest implies that we are not concerned about the outcome.
3. We show no anxiety, worry, nor fear.
4. We know God will do what is best.
CONCLUSION: What were the results:
It led to victory.
1. Egypt attacked Judah during the reign of Rehoboam, but that battle failed, probably because of his sins. Rehoboam did not show that he loved God, and that he had God’s heart in mind. However, Asa’s was God’s man for the generation. He followed and obeyed God. So when the time came for a certain battle in his life, God helped him. It would be a hard struggle. However, there was victory because of Asa’s faithfulness.
2. There would be peace from Egypt for 250 years.
2. The people came closer to God
Reform came to Israel.
