About

Christian culture is a strange beast. Equal parts worship avenue, evangelical tool and capitalist product, it’s been celebrated by its fans and derided by its detractors. But what if it’s not all bad – or all good? At the Jesus Junkyard, Chris Williams examines Christian culture, wrestles with how his relationship to it changes as his faith shifts, and celebrates the treasures littered among the Jesus Junk.

Chris Williams writes about film and faith, and often about their intersection. His work has appeared in Patheos, Reel World Theology, and Christ and Pop Culture. He also writes the Chrisicisms newsletter, which talks about film, faith and popular culture. He has a B.A. in journalism and an M.A. in media arts and studies, both from Wayne State University. Chris lives in the Detroit area with his wife, Kelly, and their two kids.
