LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

People think, “Oh, you religion bloggers, all you learn at church is things like which hymns to hate, or who has the worst possible interpretation of the miracle of loaves and fishes.”  But this is not true.  And now is the time of year for dispensing some of the other wisdom we’ve gleaned from our spiritual shepherds.

For example, do you have a friend who likes whiskey and homemade salad dressing?  Then what you want, thank Fr. E for tipping us off to the first half of the equation, is Bulleit brand whiskey or rye.

Not only is it expensive and spelled funny, I can report with confidence that it comes in the best container ever for storing vinaigrette or pepper vinegar.  I’ve reused many different bottles, and this one outperforms all the others.  Also, it makes for predictable but lively conversation at the potluck supper.

Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey

Empty first before adding your salad dressing.

Since it’s produced at a distillery in Indiana, which sounds like “India” but has better working conditions, it’s almost like buying from the Serv catalog.  So that means you’re allowed to set aside your Franciscan scruples and put on your Patron of the Arts hat.  And every time you reuse the bottle, a baby seal smiles.

It actually is a decent drink.  And I’m not kidding: Best container ever for storing mass quantities of vinaigrette or pepper vinegar.  Image courtesy of Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, used for this product review.

Not Satire. But almost.
