*Jeff and I are SO excited to start blogging here on Patheos! We want this blog to be a place where you guys come along with us on our journey as a family. We hope it encourages you as well as gives you a good laugh from time to time!*

Wake up at 6:20am to a faint cry from the bedroom around the corner. Kins is up. It’s Go Time People.

Lay in my bed for a few more minutes until I reluctantly sit up and crawl out of bed. With one eye closed, and one open, and my hair sticking up in strange places, I go get our little girl.

As soon as Kins and I finish nursing and doing the diaper thing, it’s coffee time. Because life begins after coffee.

Jeff gets up and walks into the room. It’s pretty much one of my favorite parts of everyday because when Jeff is up-the whole neighborhood knows it! He always walks in the living room and starts dancing and hollering. Kins lights up when she sees her daddy. Aslan is always right on Jeff’s heals, hips swinging side to side, his tail slapping everything in his range.

Whip up some oatmeal. We sit. We talk. We read. We plan out the day. I throw together some protein power balls. (Google. These will change your life.)

Today is house repair day. Although there haven’t been too many days that haven’t been “house repair day” since we’ve moved in. THE END IS IN SIGHT PEOPLE.

The plumber comes.

Fix the hot water. Check.

Unclog the shower. Check.

New toilet. Check. Check.

Ahem. Not only did our toilet constantly run, but it smelled like B.O.

I felt like I was living in a Seinfeld episode.

I tried everything. I scrubbed that toilet to no end. Scrubbed the floors. Scrubbed the cabinet. Lit a candle. Opened the windows. Nothing.

So needless to say we feel like we won the lottery having a new toilet. Our bathroom smells fresh again! And I just bought myself another week ‘til I have to clean that toilet- score.

Finish up painting the bookshelves. No big deal right? Ya, that’s what I always tell myself when I start painting, but WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE MOST HORRIBLE THING EVER? And bookshelves!? Not just one. Not just two with few shelves. No, no. If you know my husband, you know we have a whole library, and therefore we painted SIX bookshelves that have a multitude of shelves because did I mention we have books that will last ‘til the end of time!? We’re like our own amazon.

Take a break from painting, but lo and behold, I cannot wash my hands that are COVERED in paint because the water has been turned off.

Jeff feeds Kins her lunch. I tell him a pouch of food and a cheese stick, but you have to defrost it. He confesses later that the first cheese stick didn’t even make it to her high chair; he downed it from the time he took it out of the microwave to her.

Also, those power protein balls. Yep, we ate half of them before noon. They’re so good, we couldn’t stop!

Play with Kins. As Jeff and I giggle with her, Aslan tries to steal all of her toys and eat them. She loves it.

Kins takes a nap. Jeff and I pass out on the couch. Correction. Jeff passes out. I watch my LAST episode of Hart of Dixie. Tears. I am now officially in the grieving process. Let’s just say I was starting to talk to myself in a southern accent. (anyone!?) (Also, Team Wade? Team George?)

Kins wakes up. We go for a power walk. In the HOT HEAT of day. Aslan’s tongue looks like it’s going to fall out at any minute he’s panting so hard. Jeff walks out of the room, with a fresh lineup- yeah, he still gives me butterflies.

Make dinner. Overboil the water, spills everywhere. The ice machine had clogged, and now unleashes ice cubes all over the floor. Kins apparently loves it, and keeps sticking them in her mouth. Burn the pot of spaghetti just a bit. Kins opens all 3 drawers. This girl is literally standing on one foot, with the other hoisted up on the 2nd drawer, arms stretching as far as they can into the spice drawer, all the while wobbling since those drawers keep moving in and out.

Eat dinner. Kins likes to eat with one foot resting on her armrest. We’ve learned to strip her down to her diaper because eating when you’re a baby is a messy job. Blueberry juice runs all down her chest and chin, and arms and legs.

Jeff cleans up. Disney music blares. We dance and sing and play with Kins and Aslan.

I reach for my 3rd helping of chocolate today because, well, ladies you know, this girl needs her chocolate! Can I get an Amen!?

Bath time. Laundry. Sweep.

Bedtime for Kins. (And I wish for me too, because this mama is tired by 7pm!)

And I sit. And rock. And marvel at this precious daughter that the Lord has given us. How could we be so lucky? Her little body falls asleep on my chest, and I can’t help but kiss her cheeks a thousand times. I swirl her one little curl in my finger. I am over the moon for this little one. I can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow.
