Ephesus | syncretism or an advanced form of euangelizzo

I have sheep in other pastures you know nothing of… Paraphrase from John 10 conversation Did you read the previous post? If not, here’s a snippet; as somebody who claims Nashville is a great family place says. Well, there is Trevecca to start and then Vandy has about the best baseball uniforms in college. “The economy of Ephesus in particular is built around temple marketplace wares, including the selling of trinkets as necklaces from the smiths in the region. law & idolatry in Acts, ethics pt. 6

Last updated on: July 19, 2022 at 11:45 pm   By Rev. Jared V. Ingle

The NT Church simply does not have to make law There is the Mosaic Law and a growing body of literature on the Law of Christ including the Didake It’s a joint document penned as early as 60 AD Once again, James’ proclamation is repeated. The council drafts a letter to the Antiochean Church. Neither is LinkedIn a place for only being relevant

Last updated on: July 15, 2022 at 12:00 am   By Rev. Jared V. Ingle

I don’t know what you think LinkedIn is, but it’s basically a mandatory meeting place geared around building others up. It’s not geared around building others up in a Genesis 11 way, maybe not quite in an Acts 2 way either. However there is some policing that takes place if someone is trolling, or simply promoting oneself, dropping links and running. If that’s what you want going over there, then I can guarantee it’ll be a lonely place for you.... Read more

interim levity | Disqus; grad school scholars; Mary Poppins; Pandora; young adults

Last updated on: July 14, 2022 at 1:34 pm   By Rev. Jared V. Ingle

I’d really like to call everything after my first grad degree interim. Anyway, an endless glut of knowledge in the paideia or the commonweal, and it’s really nothing more than an interim. The ethics work I’ve shared thus far in the current series is “dated material” so the copyright is shared, and once it is published and has ran its course, I retain the right to print (or blog-to-publish), but it’s all interim I was going to jump into Disqus... Read more

must some of us re-consider Judeo-Christian ethics in Acts xv? pt. 5

Last updated on: July 9, 2022 at 7:04 pm   By Rev. Jared V. Ingle

Acts 15 is part of a larger story involving the entire Early Church. “Judaizers” come to Antioch to tell Paul, Barnabas, and the Church that they must follow the Jewish Law. So Paul and Barnabas go to Jerusalem to consult with the Apostles and presbyteries (verses 1-4). In a conversation with a lady along The Way to or from San Francisco (who is part of GTU) I find myself being questioned about this very topic. I must say at this... Read more

therapists, MBA’s & an afterword including the Gospel of Matthew

Last updated on: July 4, 2022 at 5:47 pm   By Rev. Jared V. Ingle

A brief article, repetitive video doing quite well in the analytics although not quite viral; and an afterword with some praxis or integration with the Gospel according to Matthew; and a little blurb about why Matthew? I’m not always exactly a bottom line reader. However no one is on the Disqus thread yet for this article: https://lnkd.in/g4AgJQUD The original news source is pretty good, you have to admit, not sure: https://lnkd.in/gh4W42ft Couple key takeaways from the bottom line/s and from... Read more

To defend the work, there are a few different ways to analyze traffic on the website. One way has to do with page visit or landing pages. In the last 90 days to 16 weeks, about the periods of some college courses I’ve actually done better than expected. I was going to share some highlights but I’m not sure if the time has passed. I guess it’s proprietary. Maybe I could offer some directed readings without being too weird. A... Read more

Thomists to the Natural Law ethicists

Last updated on: June 27, 2022 at 6:35 pm   By Rev. Jared V. Ingle

Thomists to the Natural Law ethicists: lead in 1) When using Scripture as a basis for ethics, are we going beyond what the Law did? 2) What is the purpose of a Biblical lifestyle or Christian ethics? suggested answers 1) No, we too are trying to apply the Word daily, although we rely on Christ instead of the rule of the Law. 2) Like the Law, our ethics point the world toward wrong and right, dark and light, sin and... Read more
