Aircraft Carrier vs. Destroyer | maneuvers & precautions of a small congregation.  This is a Facebook Live reminder about our Prayer Vigil, running from 3-9 pm.  We’ll have 3 prayer stations, including 1 for the election.

It’s also an opportunity for you to get acquainted with the precautions we’re taking as a church (due diligence). We want to welcome you, but rest assured a lot of thought has gone into our preparations, because your safety comes first.

Watch for the “Aircraft Carrier vs. Destroyer” illustration toward the close of the video.

Aircraft Carrier vs. Destroyer

For the size of this church, we are blessed with the amount of people who know how to handle this situation.  I was thinking today, sometimes big and little churches have this fear of “Oh no, what’s going to happen?”

I tend to think of it as the time when the Spanish Armada attacks Britain (1588 A.D.).  The Spanish Armada is a fleet of beautiful, big ships made for sailing across the Atlantic.  They are massive ships.  They sail to the English Channel and they lose this battle against the Britons.

One the greatest reasons they lose is because the English had built smaller ships for navigating the treacherous waters of the English Channel.  They could sail and maneuver quicker, do what the Armada ships couldn’t, because the Armada ships were bigger.

So if I put it in today’s language, there are benefits to being an Aircraft Carrier if you have that kind of church.

There are also benefits to being a smaller Destroyer like this.  We’re able to maneuver quickly, make quick decisions that affect the whole congregation, and do what’s necessary in a time like this.

Enjoy your day!

Hope to see you!
