If your youngest son starts talking down about some of your leaders . . . you cannot blame it on other kids at school or church . . . if you’re in quarantine!
Watch the video for the announcement on our reopening of Long Lake Friends Church on 05.31.20 at 10 am. Like other congregations in our state and nation, we are emerging from quarantine with precautions. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Christian workers and leaders deserve honor
We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 1 Thessalonians 5.12-13, English Standard Version
Esteem them very highly, literally give them consideration.
The New Living Translation says: Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other.
Certainly, we don’t want to elevate our leaders to the point of idolatry. However, we should respect them for their work for the Kingdom.
We must respect Christian workers, but also leaders in general. At times, our own children have reminded us of this.
If your youngest son starts talking down about some of your leaders . . . you cannot blame it on other kids at school or church . . . if you’re in quarantine!
As you may have guessed, this has happened to me recently. I had to ask my son for forgiveness and pray for our leaders. This Scripture came up in one of our readings at that time:
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2.1-4, ESV
Would you say this is coincidence? In 1 Thessalonians 5.13 Paul adds: Be at peace among yourselves.
