Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
Feel your purpose. Go within yourself and feel the essence of what you really want to accomplish in the moment. Instead of judging whether or not you’re doing it right, just feel it and feel it flowing out from you. Avoid trying to figure out or analyze what you want to do. Just let it come. Don’t put limits on yourself. Feel that purpose and know that, whatever your actions are, if you are truly and intensely feeling the passion of that purpose, your actions will resonate with that purpose. It may not be exactly the way you planned, because if you’ve planned it all in advance and you refuse to deviate from your plan, you could be stopped by unexpected developments. Sure, you want to have a good idea of what you’ll do and how you’ll do it. But what you don’t want is to have a rigid, inflexible sequence laid out that doesn’t permit you to react to changing situations.
Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed about your purpose. It has great value. Everything that has gone into your life up to this point has created that value. You’ve taken in all the good that you’ve experienced, and integrated that value into your essence. You’ve also taken all the negative things you’ve experienced, and found something positive about each of them, and integrated that positive value into your life. It has all gone into who you are right now. That value is nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to hide. It is unique value. No one else has been through the same things you’ve been through. No one else has seen life in exactly the same way as you have. So you have something unique and valuable to offer to whatever you’re doing.
Let that value come out. Let it come from the center of who you are. Let it naturally come from all those good things that have accumulated in your life. Just as an athlete acts from muscle memory, let the experience memory that you’ve created guide you in your present actions. And don’t be ashamed of your feelings. Don’t attempt to hide your feelings. Because your feelings are what make you real.
