Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
When you feel empowered, you are in fact empowered. When you feel creative and productive and effective, you are indeed creative, effective and productive. It may seem that your feelings are automatic reactions to the world around you, but that’s just because you’ve allowed them to become such. You can choose the way you feel in any situation. Go out into the world and you’ll see that this is true. It is easy to find large groups of people sharing the same circumstances with a wide variation in feelings. One person can be watching a beautiful sunset and feeling completely at peace, while someone else watching the same sunset can be filled with anger. Feelings are a cause, not a result.
You have developed an elaborate, sophisticated and highly effective set of strategies for creating your own feelings. The next time you find yourself feeling something intensely, examine closely what you’re doing with your body, what you’re thinking in your mind. You’ll find that you are indeed the source of that intense feeling. You figured out a long time ago how to bring it to life, and since that time you’ve had a lot of practice. By paying attention to what you’re doing, you can also figure out how to elicit the feelings that will move you quickly and energetically forward.
Your feelings cause your reality to take on the timbre of those feelings. You are literally feeling your way through life. So choose to embrace and create the feelings that will bring into being a magnificent reality all around you.
