It may seem that only a miracle can turn your life around, and indeed that is true. But there is something very important to realize. The miracle is already present, and you are it. The miracle is that you are alive, and aware, capable of connecting with the necessary resources, able to take the necessary steps to move your life in the direction you choose. The miracle is that you have a powerful, driving purpose that compels you to create meaningful value.

It can be enticing to think that some kind of magical power will drop a new and fulfilling life into your lap without any effort on your part. And there are plenty of self-serving people who are all too willing to take advantage of that wishful thinking, promising all sorts of effortless “secret techniques” for turning your life around. But think about it. Would you really even want such things? If you could have anything just by wishing for it, nothing would have any value. It might be fun for a few weeks, but very soon it would become absolutely devastating. Why is that? Because you would realize that your life under such a scenario was completely meaningless. You would come to the awful realization that your thoughts, your words and your actions did not matter.

And what you would ultimately discover is that the meaning in your own life is the meaning you work to give it. That is the real miracle. That is the real magic of life. It represents an opportunity so vast and unlimited that you cannot even grasp all the implications.
