Just as you would exercise your body and mind, your chakras can sometimes use a kickstart, too. Unblocked chakras allow your life force to flow fully and freely throughout your body. By caring for them properly every day, your chakras can become balanced and full, having the potential to change your emotional, mental, and physical health.
Chakras are the centers of spiritual power in our bodies, and there are seven in all—the root chakra, the sacral chakra, the solar plexus chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the third eye chakra, and the crown chakra.
But like your heart, your kidneys, or your liver, they only work as well as you let them. If you’re taking in nothing but unhealthy, fatty foods all day, it won’t be long before your heart gives out on you. Like your arteries, your chakras can become blocked, understimulated, or overstimulated.
The following ways will help you open and balance your chakras so your body and mind function at their full capability.
Listen to Different Vibrations
If you think your chakras have become blocked, one of your first steps should be stimulating them. Raising your vibration will stimulate chakras. An easy and enjoyable way to raise your vibration is with sound. Stimulate your chakras by using different sound frequencies for each one.
Give Them a Dose of Sunshine
Certain chakras, like the crown chakra, respond well to being in the sunshine and taking in fresh air. Heading outside for a few minutes a day can help keep this chakra functioning well.
Pay Attention to Your Diet
You are what you eat—and that can apply to chakra care as well. Your chakra health is better when you’re eating foods that fuel them, such as a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, beans and dairy products, and spices and herbs. Junk food, however, isn’t good at all for your chakras.
Deep Breathe to Create Motivation
Your second chakra, the sacral chakra, is the center of life, energy, motivation, and your sense of purpose. If this one is disrupted, you’ll have no energy or motivation to do anything. By doing deep abdominal breathing, you can stimulate your lower energy center and create motivation.
Start Tapping
Tapping the Joongwan, an energy point at the center of the stomach area and the entry site of the third chakra, can unblock this chakra. By using a series of taps and sweeps, the energy flow is restored. If you experience pain when you tap it, it’s a sign that your chakra is blocked. If that occurs, tap it lighter and stay mindful of creating a steady rhythm.
Do Some Chakra Exercises
Be sure to relax your body and mind before attempting chakra exercises—it won’t work unless you’re in a state of relaxation.
One exercise you can try is separating your body from your consciousness. For this one, you’ll sit comfortably and whisper to yourself, “My body is not me, but mine.” Keeping going, repeating the phrase by inserting your different body parts, such as, “My eyes are not me, but mine.”
Feel your body with your mind, and keep repeating the phrases, with authority, until it feels as if you are out of your body, looking at yourself.
Experience Nature
Sometimes being in nature—on a mountain, in the woods, or at a beach—can be enough to rebalance your chakras. The smells of the earth, the majestic sights, or the sounds of rushing water or wind rustling through leaves can help ground you or absorb different energies.
