Remembering an American Icon<\/h1>\n Image courtesy of www.tobykeith.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n \u201cToby Keith did things his way \u2013 amazing artist, songwriter, patriot, and man of faith\u2026.\u201d<\/em> \u2013\u00a0<\/span>Lee Greenwood<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Iconic Country music singer\u00a0<\/span>Toby Keith<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has died at age 62. Keith passed peacefully on February 5th, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Keith was known for his songs Red Solo Cup and Should\u2019ve Been a Cowboy just to name a few. Not only was he a Patriotic American who supported our Military in their efforts to protect our country and borders, but he was also a restauranteur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Toby Keith\u2019s I Love This Bar & Grill<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n Image courtesy of Toby Keith\u2019s Bar & Grill<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n It is a restaurant chain<\/a> inspired by the country music singer Toby Keith and founded by Boomtown Entertainment. The bar is named after Keith\u2019s 2003 single \u201c<\/span>I Love This Bar<\/span><\/a>\u201c, which was taken from his eighth studio album\u00a0<\/span>Shock\u2019n Y\u2019all<\/span><\/em><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The first of many Toby Keith\u2019s Bar and Grill<\/a> opened in 2005 in Keith\u2019s home state Oklahoma. The bar and grill operated as a full-service\u00a0<\/span>restaurant<\/span><\/a>\u00a0with a large\u00a0<\/span>bar<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in the shape of a\u00a0<\/span>guitar<\/span><\/a>. They primarily served\u00a0<\/span>Southern food<\/span><\/a>. The bars regularly had live musical entertainment from local performers without a cover charge. During his lifetime, Keith made surprise visits to franchises, where he performed and socialized with fans.<\/span><\/p>\n When asked about the signature Bologna sandwich on the menu. Keith let everyone know it was one of his favorite dishes. The singer has fondly told a story about an executive chef who was thoroughly disgusted upon discovering the sandwich would be featured on the restaurant\u2019s menu.<\/span><\/p>\n Toby stood firm in his belief that the people would love it. He was correct in that assumption because the Executive Chef acknowledged that the sandwich was responsible for the restaurant\u2019s remarkable success, boasting an opening volume three times greater than the other establishments he had assisted in opening.<\/span><\/p>\n The Bologna Sandwich is a Southern staple of lower-middle-class Southern Americans. We loved and respected him on every level and whispered many a prayer for him as he fought this illness. God must have needed a big-hearted Oklahoma singing boy for the great choir. Well, he got one.
